FSM is also quite bullish on recommending China equity funds. I currently have no exposure to that at all, but I've heard that they have been doing quite poorly over the past few years.
So they may be cheap, but on the other hand, there is all this talk of slowdown in China, so how? |

Currently there seems to be a promotion for funds that won the Edge-Lipper awards. I'm thinking of the Eastspring Investments Dinasti Equity Fund. Thoughts?

QUOTE(invest1212 @ Mar 3 2014, 06:15 AM) Particularly like the convenience of investment through internet and lower sales charge, but the downside I think would be no one give me any advice on what funds to buy... My personal experience with unit trust consultants (i.e. salesmen) suggests that they tend to give very bad advice so I don't think you're missing out much. I think this forum as a whole gives better advice than any individual consultant at the cost of time and effort to read up on everything. |

QUOTE(kabal82 @ Mar 13 2014, 10:31 AM) My problem with this fund is that it is mainly a bond fund (benchmark is 70% Singapore FD rate) but its annual management fee is charged like an equity fund (1.5%). You'd be basically betting that the SGD will continue to rise against the MYR. |

QUOTE(s_kates81 @ Mar 25 2014, 02:20 PM) This is very true. Maybe that's the reason I sold all my UTs and shifted all my investments to US stocks. Know it's a bit silly coz it contradicts the theory that don't put all eggs in one basket and diversification etc. But if US sneezes, the whole world catches a cold, so if US gains, whole world gains, if US loses, whole world loses as hard, if not harder. I also think that the US economy will be doing better over the next few years. Due to fracking, the US will soon once again be the top energy producer of the world. That has got to be a major boost for them. |

This month's discounted fund is Eastspring Investments Global Emerging Markets. Opinions, anyone?
