No worries.

Switched out the entire Hwang Select Asia Opportunity (HSAO) holdings into Select Asia Quantum. That's why. Will focus on increasing global exposure moving forward, and topping up Pacific Global Star (PGSF) for Asia large cap.

Believe it or not, Pink and I used to constantly complain about it and intend to dispose it. Luckily we didn't. PGSF > HSAO! tongue.gif

Pink Spider from the latest fact sheet from all the funds, looks like a lot of them have reduce HK exposure (PGSF, Hwang funds, and RHB GEYF- used to be around 20%). Only funds with high HK exposure would be EIGEM fund.

Which would you top up?
*
EIGEM cannot top up liao...too heavy in my portfolio sweat.gif

I still need more US+Europe+Japan doh.gif

I also. But Asia market drop is greater than US. Can take advantage of it, and double up US+Europe when their market drop.

Not doing any top up, or waiting?

Hand itchy to top up although just topped up recently. Either that or I will whack hard when DJIA fall below 15k mark, and HSI fall below 1) 21k mark 2) 20k mark (lowest since June 2013).
*
Not doing anything.

Know what, chances are if US/Europe drops hard, HK/Asia ex Japan will drop just as hard.

Why like that? Don't like the fund performance?  tongue.gif

Imagine when the fund open at $10 per unit in 1997.. now $1980 per unit, your $100k becomes $19.8million.  whistling.gif

hmm.gif at times, depends on the % in the portfolios...it is good to consider FD as a "Bond" funds.
MUCH more less risk at a return variance of how many %? do you want it?
During QE easing bond is good, now QE tapering... doh.gif
check the ROI returns of bond and balanced funds for the past 1 yr...you will roughly see it.

+100

I used to place most of my emergency funds in money market/bond funds. But now...only 1/4 of my emergency reserves are in bond funds, FDs offering better returns PLUS the benefit of next working day liquidity.

Ya.. That's how I interpret it as well. But he was replying to a gold statement.. Haha!

I also want top up my EastspringGEM. Bought less than 1 month already around -3%. But I trying to limit my emerging market exposure. Don't want too volatile.

Pink, how's yours? Not topping up?
*
Exposure to GEM fund too heavy jor...its volatility weighed down my portfolio returns doh.gif

Dulu 20%+, now reducing to <20%, not gonna top up for a while

OT a bit - No regret shifting Hwang Select Asia ex Japan Opp to Hwang Select Opp, it's keeping up with Hwang Quantum quite nicely thumbup.gif
