QUOTE(chrono7 @ Feb 19 2014, 08:37 PM) Care to share the reason? A fund with unrestricted mandate have more flexibility. A fund with restricted pure 100% Bolehland mandate, even when the market is grossly overvalued, the fund manager cannot go elsewhere and buy other better value stuff, die die also must hold KLSE stocks or go cash-heavy. If I must get a Bolehland fund, I'd go for those with mandate to go up to 30% foreign, e.g. Hwang Select Opportunity, RHB-OSK Emerging Opportunity. QUOTE(ben3003 @ Feb 19 2014, 10:52 PM) i tot IRR should like like high high lol.. nice nice.. too bad no capital to play stocks UT is more convenient and cash friendly for newcomer Well, bad moves during 2009-2010 (freaked out and dumped all funds except Hwang Select Income) dragged my IRR, that time Pheim Asia Ex Japan, Alliance Global Equities and Eastspring Investments GEM kena quite bad. QUOTE(kabal82 @ Feb 20 2014, 11:47 AM) So, if the same situation happen again, what'll be your reaction at that time? Top-up? Top up, but not in a rush. Last time I drop a bit, top up, drop a bit, top up, then it reached a point when I ran outa ammo and the losses freak me out.

Exited Hwang Select Asia Ex Japan Opportunity Fund today, switched all to the time-proven Hwang Select Opportunity Fund, the increase in Malaysian exposure in my portfolio won't be that significant cos it only represents about 4% of my entire portfolio.

QUOTE(max_cavalera @ Feb 21 2014, 01:45 PM) Actually I am biding my time to enter Malaysian equity....waiting for any good correction or slight downtrend to occur... So far KLSE composite keep hanging at 18XX something....no more power to push further...i think FDI no more support our country equity...local retail investor capital limited...Malaysian backed instituion will only support once composite drop below 1800 psychological support level... Yeah ppl are right saying Malaysian equity got good support level...but in order for remarkable gain to be made there must be a fall/good tumble 1st... then it can rise again higher than current situation... That only applies if u buy index or ETF. Local equity fund can still make money from trading in a sideways market.
