Read this interesting article online. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57608893...his-years-ipad/QUOTE My first gripe concerns Wi-Fi. Apple has outfitted its MacBook and Mac Pro lineup with the 802.11ac flavor of Wi-Fi. But the new iPhones and iPads are still stuck with 802.11n. That may be fine for now, while the 802.11ac Wi-Fi spec is still at an early stage. But in a couple of years, 802.11n will feel outdated. And unlike a desktop or laptop, a phone or tablet can't be upgraded to take advantage of a new wireless standard. I was actually quite torn between getting either the new iPad Air or iPad Mini 2 to replace my current iPad Mini. I love the real estate of the large screen and what hindered me from carrying my old iPad 3 was the weight. With that I thought I would wait for both these products to launch and then try it out at the shop before deciding on purchasing it. Then I read the article above and it got me thinking. I remembered during the keynote that I made a mental note that the new tablets didn't support the new AC Wifi specs and I thought what a bummer. Now some may think that what is the difference since most of the time the Wifi isn't used to consume so much data right? Well the fact that I use PLEX as my media server and it streams to all my tablet devices for me to watch movies wherever I am in my house so with the AC WIFI spec, I can stream higher quality media. Damn, now I am quite torn about upgrading.

upgrade if you feel that your ipad 3 is too heavy. or else just keep with your mini for another generation perhaps. WiFi AC has not much difference if your router supports till N only

iPad mini 2 for me. Easier carry and light with same spec with iPad Air.
I don't care much on wifi AC standard. Current wifi N is enough for me. Even you change already but I doubt alot of outside free wifi hot spot will change it.

iPad mini 2 because it is small and also powerful. Perfect for travelling around.
But if you like larger screen estate, get the iPad Air.
I don't like to bring out my full-sized iPad outside, it is too big and is a hassle when moving around.

Air and Retina same specs but the latter have higher PPI due to smaller screen. I'm using the iPad 3 so worthwhile upgrade will be the Mini Retina for me.

iPad Air is good enough .. as I got a huge smartphone, I don't need an iPad that is only slightly bigger than my phone.

Damn, now I am quite torn about upgrading. The current "N" specs already good enough, provided with Unifi, i can stream most HD video without the need to let it buffer. Technology have been advancing day by day, you cant catch up with it, unless you got way too much money to spend.

iPad Air... way lighter and thinner than the old iPads. Incredible battery life.
And, more stocks than the iPad mini retina.

Now I have air & mini retina.
For both hand when carry up on 10mins is about the same weight, more bigger size for more easier to carry long time
