Guys, in a dilemma right now rclxub.gif
Currently I'm working and doing part time studies.
Below is my situation

The Good:
1. Near to home (5 km)
2. Near to place of studying (5 km)
3. Less stress & Office politics
4. Study Leave
5. No traffic Jam (my direction is opposite from traffic when going to work and vice versa)
6. Free Parking & Not congested
7. Super fast unblocked internet (I can use and download all I want)
8. Scholarship for my current studies.
9. Personal good desk and place (A big space for myself)
10. Fun industry and can learn a lot (seriously)
11. Attire is free ( I can wear what I want - usually jeans+shirt+shoe)
12. Swimming pool at office building (I just happen to love swimming)

The Bad:
1. Low pay (I believe)
2. Very low increment (I can expect what i`ll get in years to come)
3. High cost of living (KL)
4. Growing kids in KL (not nice)

Whats holding me from resigning
1. Governments plan to make Malaysia top Aviation Hub
2. The industry i`m in is very new in Malaysia and we`re the pioneer (seems bright so far), So I believe I will become a specialist in this industry
3. I`m still pursuing my studies, and the flexible time off and scholarship really helps me to focus, plus the distance and location of home, work, and study is very convenient (feel like I wait until I finish my studies)

5. Pay back scholarship (break contract - but just pay what I took)

Whats making me want to resign
1. Low pay
2. If i`m too long in this industry, I believe it`ll be quite hard for me to jump to other industries. (I`ll have to start from scratch then..)
3. I`m very interested in investing, therefore, being in my situation right now, I don`t believe I can achieve my target.

I think you're doing ok with the scholarship, salary and all the extra benefits.
How does your salary compared to your colleague on permanent tenure?

Most of my friends are making more then me, 2k would be minimum I suppose. If compare to colleague, cant really compare, since I'm the youngest there and everyone has their own sets of skill, could say all have different job scope. So hard to compare

It's either you choose to be happy, or rather unhappy but high pay, unless low pay is really an issue, i say stick with it unless you find another similar job with high pay
*
It's the low pay thats getting to me, summore living in KL, I could say I just break even every month. Not much savings can be made, but I do try my best. (Exp: already more than 1 year not got to barber, I cut my own hair, change my own engine oil, alot of DIY I guess)

I working as avionics design engineer for 4 years already. But more towards aircraft installation design and DCA liason on aircraft modification in general aviation industry and military. I would advice you finished you degree first, since DCA requirement dictate one to have at least a degree should you want to pursue your career as technical services engineer in airlines or design engineer in design engineering company. Im not sure in R&D, in general aviation we have some kind of approval from DCA to approved paperwork for aircraft modification/installation. Its very lucrative but not as good as oil and gas. Must agree that quiet difficult to jump field. Maybe the only choice for you to jump later on is to general aviation from R&D.

Your office in cyberjaya?
*
I`m not much involved with DCA, more to DGTA.
Anyways, about lucrative? mind elaborating?

Nope, office is not in Cyberjaya. Mind sharing what company you`re currently working at? via PM also can if you wanna keep it confidential.
what`s your education background?

If I were to jump ship NOW, does anyone have any suggestion where should I go with my experience & qualification?
