UK-based sports sites:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/default.stm
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/

or follow good quality arsenal blogs which often have good insight and fan-written articles:
A Cultured Left Foot ( http://aculturedleftfoot.wordpress.com/ )- decent writeup and opinions
Gunnerblog ( http://gunnerblog.com/ ) - same as above
Goodplaya ( http://goodplaya.com/ )- probably the most accurate player analysis after a match
arseblog ( http://arseblog.com/ )
young guns blog ( http://younggunsblog.co.uk/ )
Arsenal Insider ( http://www.arsenalinsider.com/ )- very pro-Arsene site, but many good articles to read... great weekly TGIF, but not sure whether they still do it or not
Untold Arsenal ( http://blog.emiratesstadium.info/ )- My newest favourite arsenal site written by a die-hard old school gooner
http://www.goonernews.com - all-in-one Arsenal news web
http://arsenalist.com/ - for replays and highlights
http://arsenalanalysis.blogspot.com - technical analysis on Arsenal
http://arsenal-mania.com/
http://www.fbtz.com/forum/index.php - Alternative football forum

doesnt look like suarez is moving any time soon, he's really happy with the new SAS partnership. it seems the trend of striker partnerships in the EPL has returned, with rvp/rooney, aguero/negredo and sturridge/suarez. only us and chelsea are still using a one man striker system between the big teams in the league.

QUOTE(harrychoo @ Oct 27 2013, 01:09 PM)
they want to clear off all their stocks before it was too late
*
QUOTE(Tan Fu Yao @ Oct 27 2013, 01:32 PM)
slim chance the ban will be overturned. will be even worse if we appeal knowing how agitated the board of FA will get since their team is number 8 in the league. arteta will be out at least 2 games maybe three if chelsea loses. ideally the FA will want him to miss the Manu games since they have a very average squad.

i thought we controlled the game pretty well with 10 men and credits to szcezny had some brillian saves. lets hope frimpong can step up. we'll just have to play beautiful football and rely on our positive attacking football to stay on top. COYG!
*
QUOTE(zstan @ Oct 27 2013, 01:34 PM)
i thought i read that arteta will only be banned one match
*
QUOTE(raizo7 @ Oct 27 2013, 01:40 PM)
It was a professional foul. Just 1 match ban.
Wenger also didn't even bother to appeal as Arteta won't be used for Chelsea game.

haha, sry to invide the turf first. Good job, rifasha. I think what you're doing with the AST shirt is really great. Why not include the status/progress about the order here in the first page too?

About the red card, I think its arguable that rteta could've been just yellow carded, but if we're to follow FA rules, its hard to deny that Chamakh is after all the last man despite still being far from the penalty area. It was indeed a professional foul and I don't think Arteta personally has much intent on bringing Chamakh down. It was a nudge and both their feet got tangled on their way down.

Looks like in the end the El Cashico was decided by a gift.

The match was certainly a far cry from yesterday's El Clasico.

And again the Spuds win by a penalty. Might be their lucky year after all.

Liverpool: ManU

Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham are trailing us so tight.....We are actually have a bad hand.

Soton is quite strong this season, just look at the highlight videos of their football, precision pass, accuracy, teamwork..i think we will face a strong challenge by Soton instead... The problem with MU is more of their leaky defence, hope our combo of Rambo, Ozil, Cazorla can thrash them.. rclxms.gif

I more worried about soton. During big games , surely players will step up 1 gear compare to a team u dont regard as challenger.

Bah 1 game at a time. Against Chelsea who should we start? Despite it is a small cup game, for me still important to maintain momentum and believe that we can beat mourinho squad.

For sure they will, but the problem is their 2nd string pun dah macam 1st team..

Here I expect their team for the COC:

CODE
            Schwarzer
Azpilicueta - Luiz - ??? - Bertrand
         Mikel - Essien?
de Bruyne - Mata - Willian
             Eto/Ba

While this is ours:

CODE
          Fabianski
Jenko - Hayden? - TV - Nacho
      Frimpong? - Olsson?
    Gnabry - Eisfeld - Ryo
        Bendtner/Akpom

I think I won't take this match too seriously. Lower the expectation and just enjoy the match tongue.gif

yess,, agree with U.. now we lead BPL with 2 points.. so we don't want to have more 1st team player injured,,.
and it is a chance for our 2nd and young player to play,, after all, our carling cup always feature young player..

Play none 1st string players, give the chance to youngsters to prove their worth. If they succeed then good, they got another match to play.
Use 1st string if pass Chelsea, still later Q-Final will be play midweek between MCity (away) & Chelsea (H).

Makes me mad when i read about him and what manure did to him. Scholes tackle if done on diaby would have ended his career on the spot.

But oh well, homesick boy wont last long either.

So now, just because of 1 tweet (which I believe it was some kind of misunderstanding), our club is racist? Media bullshit.

I don't know why the media need to bring the racism sentiment into this.

Frimpong is not good enough to play for Arsenal at this level. He's a walking yellow card or even red card. Off the pitch, this isn't the first time he tweeted / did something stupid. The sooner he realize, the better for his career (if he indeed serious about making to the top level).

Guys,
so its confirmed Flamini wont make it for Liverpool game
is it confirmed Arteta will only serve 1 match ban? thus, only ineligible for tonight CC game and back for Liverpool game?

call me a pessimist for today, but if the price of winning the game against Liverpool comes with a defeat against Chelsea tonight
id take that deal!

Yes Flamini is completely out. Groin injury. But Wenger didn't say how long he'll be out. Estimated 2 weeks.

Arteta will be banned for only 1 match.

Gnabry is doubful for Chelsea because of ankle problem. Will have a test today.

Hayden is likely to start.

Zelalem is not fit.

That's probably the reason why he's not playing. tongue.gif

But seriously with the amount of talent we have in midfield it's hard to see how Frimpong's going to break through. You gotta love his spirit and enthusiasm for the team, but so far he hasn't shown that he has the ability to be our midfield lynchpin. Injuries didn't help him either, neither did his constant media whoring.

I hope I'm wrong but chances are Frimmy's going to leave if he wants to play regularly. Same goes with Coquelin whose loan seems more like a chance to put him on the market rather than to gain experience.

Chelsea should be favourites for tonight. Their second stringers are still a team littered with full internationals.

Either way we must rest our players tonight. The lads all look really knackered after Palace and we are still only at the start of the season. Giroud, Ozil, Ramsey and to a certain extent maybe all our back four, Per, Kos, Gibbs and Sagna must be rested.

Worrying prospect if giroud ever get injured. No decent backup seriously. Don't mind getting another high profile striker signing. This is the right time to spend and win something.

dont forget about podolski... he is a more than a decent striker. We seriously need a CB, RB, and CDM at the moment... we have koscielny back up but not for Per and as for RB jenk is far too inconsistent and sagna look more likely to leave and arteta is not getting younger and we seriously need a new back up in CDM position.

We were poor in every department. Especially in the final third. One shot on target just bad. We cant really rely on Bendtner. Everyone knows that. He just bad. And that howler by Jenkinson. doh.gif

Nothing much we can do about it.

The team still lack of plan B, winning mentality, Game Changer & fear factor. It's going to be a roller coaster ride this season.

awwww too bad we lose.

I didnt watch the match but looking at the stats I would say both teams not playing that great.

but looking at chelsea 2nd team lineup, just wow..so strong. it look like their 2nd team also can take down any team in BPL.

the advantage of team depth shown tonight...

in the long run... we are most likely farked...

January is an important period for AW... he need to buy another 2 world class players... one DM and one striker...

hope that Arsenal's BOD has been convinced with the impact of world class players to the team, for instance, Ozil.

on a side note, losing out on Capital One Cup ain't too bad, given that we can now focus more on the PL and CL, and hopefully FA Cup as well... with our thin squad, playing less game is better this season to avoid further injury...

Good tactical game by JM btw.
Counter attack is the best way to win over Arsenal + firm back 4.

Different from us..we tend to move fwd with 10 players and left with GK at the back. Sigh

Fuh, sad with the loss but I'm kinda relieved I didn't stayed awake to watch the match. Went to bed at 3am, woke up this morning to a loss to Chelsea. At first I thought we lost for playing 2nd team players, shocked to hear its the first team.

Really wtf feel. sad.gif

I am more than glad to have this game played. Despite losing, at least we clear Arteta red card as well as showing our backup players isn't as good as Chelsea.

I am only afraid for Ramsey. He could be burn out pretty soon at the rate of him playing 90 mins game constantly.

sad to say this, but fat chance for Chelsea to win the league this season.

Played a game without a proper DM and this is what happens.

Oh well, can't beat a team who has players of such high depths.

What we can do now is hope the team carry the momentum from C.Palace match and win many matches along the way. Can't afford to blow out now.

We can't beat Chelsea with the depths of the players they have but we can beat them with winning against other teams with consistency.

right now, what we can do is perform consistently in BPL and hoping other rival not performing well smile.gif

then come inJanuary, AW shud know he must get several players to maintain our league position if we want to strive in BPL smile.gif

remember, BPL is 10 month competition while Cup is based on 'that' day performance and luck smile.gif

Chelsea is the favourite for this season, I think that much is generally agreed by all. I do think we can match them for best 11 but the quality of their full squad is just too good. So I'm not too bothered about losing last night

Let's get ourselves close to top of the table come January and then re-asses our chances and plan (transfer etc) then. League is the utmost top priority this season

Duh. I never thought Wenger would play Jack and Ramsey last night. I don't mind losing that match, but why didn't give the lads a rest? sweat.gif

Chelsea 2nd stringers are far too good to be considered as a 2nd team. This team is better than more than half of BPL teams I think.

But I'm still pretty convinced that our 1st team (I mean with Theo and Flamini in the squad) is on par with any other top teams.
But if injuries strike us, especially to Giroud & Sagna, then we are fcuked.

it's a weird decision to play jack and ramsey. but i guess wenger wanted to win the league cup. it's a risky move, and it didnt pay off. the passing and movement was great but nothing to show for in the final third

last season we deploy Arteta, not a DMC in nature, as our DMC. Tho he did well, but he is more of a QB than a DMC. Now got Flamini, a true DMC, then can get the defence shored up. This also allow other players to play more creatively with Arteta being better DMC...really hope Flamini can get better soon, coz if he is injury-prone, maybe can get another DMC as bekap, maybe Bender?

Chelsea was definitely the better team yesterday. The way they play by parking the bus and then hoofing the ball clear while waiting for any 4 players run up the field is the true sign of champions. Arsenal on the other hand was completely inferior. All they do is play beautiful football trying to penetrate chelsea's great wall of $1billion and putting on some intricate highly technical one two passes and through ball only 2 be broken up by one of the 10 chelsea players in the six yard box. Well done Chelsea.

even it was against Chelsea, it was after all the League Cup, where Arsenal traditionally fielded reserve and young gunners..probably thats why the squad yesterday didnt played their best..

hope they will play at higher level against Liverpool, which I rate a better team than Chelsea..

Obviously the team & fans morale are down.

This gonna affect this weekends game. Doesn't look good.

Arsenal will lose the title if they don't beat Liverpool this week!

It's a domino effect.

If Arsenal lose to Liverpool -- > Team Morale will be at lowest -- > The team will play with lack of confidence in the next games -- > This leads to bad results -- > Bad result means NO TROPHY!

It's not rocket science to figure it out. This has been happening in the last 8 years.

Anyone wanna challenge?

and btw, i totally disagree with Arsenal fans booing Bendtner. Yes he has poor games, but the fact is the entire team did too.

Not to mention, this is his 2nd game starting for Arsenal after god knows how long. The least we need right now is players feeling down and out considering how long this season is gonna go.

when you think about how much wages Chelsea are paying their players each week and how much arsenal pay to theirs, this lose is not shameful at all. Winning at mickey mouse cup won't get you much money, just a mickey mosue trophy at most, but for arsenal to lose the mickey mouse cup its okay, considering how much wealth opponent is spending each week.

Winning games will make the team overconfident and lose the next game hence losing title challenge.
Losing games will make the team morale down and the team will self destruct and losing title challenge.

So which one do you want?

Puiiiiii

Tbh, losing a game is okay. The problem now is this lost shown that we need to do more to win on form team. Remember this is a tough November month for arsenal. Every win do make a change.

Anyway, still confident with the team to win liverpool. MU fans is counting on us to stop Liverpool. Haha!

On positive note, the fans have realized how lazy is NB52.

I am glad this guy will not make it through into the 1st team anymore.

Give chance to Sanogo / Akpom. This guy deserves a shot!

BTW, I am never a fan of NB52. This guy is just hopeless.

Vermy is trying to get a move, so can get more playing time for a place in national team..probably AW can experiment using him in Flamini position, against lesser teams of coz

its so easy to be a chelsea player. all they have to do in training and matches is to park the bus and hoof the ball and then chase the ball. also they don't have to work hard because they'll know there're 10 other players in the region of 20million ahead in each position.

From my experience, upper tier was soooooooo quite. Seriously. The only noise you will heard is when the team scores. Lower tier is the seat you should aim for if you were to come to Emirates. Plus, it is cheaper. Most of the vocal supporters sit in the lower tier. If you prefer to sit in upper tier, sit near with away fans. That's where usually some vocal supporters will sit and chant.

This! Always.

Us and Them. One club. Two factions. No. Not the WOB vs WKB. I’m talking about ‘us’ the fans and ‘them’ the Club. Once again the club enforced a double standard policy allowing the away support to do as they please whilst the home support was policed. Stewards were seen littered amongst the Block 19 section ensuring playful banter was not encouraged.

“If you continue to engage the away fans you will be arrested” a Tweet from @dandeamer as warned by a steward.

Another said a steward apologised for having to police him, don’t shoot the messenger is the phrase that comes to mind. And that steward is right. They’re only doing a job as directed from the powers that be to stop singing, sit down and shut up.

RedActionAFC have found the Club are unwilling to engage in constructive dialogue about ways of generating more atmosphere yet, other clubs seem more willing to adopt a singing section

QUOTE
Many will know that at the BSM we're passionate about getting a better deal for fans, and that part of this is to get an enjoyable matchday experience for those going to matches, supporting the team. One of our initiatives is 'Bring Back The Clock End' - a move to get season tickets in that area of the stadium, providing a place for like-minded fans who want to make a noise and get loud, vocal support going.

With season tickets not valid for League Cup games, it gave us a good chance of trying to do something similar, i.e. get a good number of like-minded supporters together in the ground. We therefore invited BSM members to get involved, and asked that they buy tickets in blocks 19, 18 and 17 - close to the away fans and not shoved as far away as possible, as the club did with the REDsection.

The idea was greeted with real enthusiasm from our members, and it was great to hear that a good few hundred had managed to buy tickets in this area of the ground. It was all set up to be an enjoyable night and on the concourse before the game, the songs started. The mood was positive and upbeat, and I was looking forward to taking my place in the ground.

Walking into block 19 a few minutes before kick off, our fans in that area of the ground were already in good voice. Volume was increasing and the atmosphere was building nicely. Of course with 9,000 away fans to our left we were up against it and it would take a decent effort to make a dent. But for the first 10 or 15 minutes we held our own and had some good exchanges back and forth across the divide. I saw some good stuff from fans on Twitter talking about block 19 buzzing, and some Chelsea fans have told me today that it was vocal back and forth at the start. But then, it began.

All of a sudden there was a constant stream of stewards up and down the aisle, telling people to sit down, checking tickets and generally causing a nuisance. This carried on all night but from that moment on, all that happened was arguing between fans and stewards over standing, noise, singing at the Chelsea fans, whether they had the right ticket - it was real disruptive tactics and in my opinion this was orchestrated by the stadium management. One female steward patrolled up and down the aisle with a notebook, furiously scribbling notes and ordering other stewards around.

Soon after this, Chelsea were gifted a goal and that invited their fans to start the provocation of our supporters. Standing on seats hurling abuse, acting brave and offering fights to anyone who'd give them some abuse back. When they scored, some Chelsea fans tried to light a blue flare but never managed to get it going. No action from police or stewards, which is puzzling when you think a fan of ours who did that at Stamford Bridge in 2010 received a £385 fine and was banned from football grounds for 3 years.

Don't get me wrong I am up for wind-ups and banter between opposing supporters. It's part of football and has been so for decades. But last night it was a one-sided affair with Chelsea fans allowed to get up to all sorts, while stewards and police caused endless trouble for our supporters with threats of arrest for anyone who "engaged with Chelsea supporters" (that's an actual quote from a policeman last night). One steward then said to the bloke next to me "Sorry, we're under orders tonight". That told us all we needed to know.

At half time I saw two people pulled aside on the concourse by police and get questioned. Apparently this was for being abusive to stewards, though I was informed no such abuse was given. Arguing a point yes, but no actual abuse.

On going back to our seats after half time, stewards then saw it fit to check the ticket of every fan trying to get back in. I've never seen this happen at any home game of ours in all the time I've been going - some 30-odd years. Naturally this caused a huge bottleneck of fans trying to get back to their seats, and many of us missed the start of the second half.

The rest of the game was just more of the same. Hassle from stewards and bugger all happening on the Chelsea side. Over came a bottle from their fans, our supporters reacted angrily and in came the police and stewards to threaten our supporters. Any stewards or police their side plucking out the person who threw it? Of course not. Truly laughable.

Overall, I have to give a big thanks to those BSM members who came along last night with the intention of getting behind the team, creating some noise and having a good time at football. I'm just sorry that an obvious ploy from our stadium management ensured that fans spent most of their time arguing with stewards and police, being threatened with arrest for the most ridiculous reasons, and some even being followed and told off by police after leaving the ground.

Every now and then we hear noises from Arsene Wenger and the players about the need for a positive atmosphere at home games. It's therefore disappointing that the club do all they can to stifle any attempts to generate loud vocal support. Last night it wasn't even a case of pissing into the wind, it was more like pissing into that St Jude storm while being battered with a water cannon of piss at the same time.

Needless to say, we'll be taking these events up with the club and we will continue to fight to get a positive atmosphere back in our stadium. The club may want a big group of people who sit there in silence, tapping away on their iPad or knitting (yes, that has been spotted), taking pictures and clapping every now and then. To us, that's not football. It's not the way football has ever been, or ever should be.

We continue, onward. A better deal for fans, that's what we strive for. It's our club, it's our game, and we won't give up easily. Football without the fans is nothing.

It's either Flamini or Arteta partnering with Ramsey or Wilshere according to this article. Not both.

I think our game much better if we pair Flamini with Ramsey right?

We went without Arteta for few games and I think, we won all of them. *I think* cool2.gif

what to do, Flamini is currently injured and we have to quickly accept that fact and adapt our gameplay..

In other news,

Diego Costa chose Spain

Footballing wise, it could be good as almost all Spain strikers are not up to the standard at the moment. However, playing for other nation in a World Cup held at your homeland...well, that could be risky considering that Brazilians are not a friendly bunch. If I were him I would told my family to GTFO from Brazil a.s.a.p

What's wrong with Arteta? He is just as good as Flamini albeit he attacks more than he defends at times but he keeps the game pace at ease. nod.gif

common gripes on arteta: he slows down the attack by holding the ball for too long or making too many backpasses. imo the speed of our counter attack depends on whether wilshere is there or not. advantage that flamini gives to the team is he's very vocal and plays the game like a tevez in defence, never stops running. arteta doest have the stamina to keep running like flamini, but fact is we need either one of them for this game and i'm glad at least arteta can play

I did'nt like arteta either dunno why..
If u compared to previous cdm - song, flamini, gilberto is way much better imo .. Arteta always short pass , back pass , slow the game
Prefer him when he was at everton. Fk specialist , long range shoot.. Good cam .. He good as cdm too but not as good as previous cdm

he has been a good player considering it isnt his natural position, but since Flamini playing, either with or without him, our midfield seems stronger and the defence has been shored up...most probably Ramsey will play at Flamini's position coz I dun think AW is the kinda gambling manager to risk putting TV at that position..

Again..seriously we need speed for against Liverpool.
Especially to handle the Double SS partnership.
Im not very confident with Pert in handling this duo.

Hope AW will featuring TV5, partner him with Kos or as DMC. Arteta can be as CM.

Sezny
Sagna TV5/Per Kos Gibbs
TV5/Arteta
Cazorla Ramsey/Arteta Ozil Gnabry/Ramsey

all these talks about Liverpool's strength made people forgot about their weakness. their flanks. they concentrate on attack through the middle but very vulnerable at the flanks. Johnson can't defend. Cissokho rarely a threat. them against Sagna and Gibbs supported by whoever on the flanks from our midfield, this will be interesting to see.

^ which is also why i think we'll be under represented since we dont have anyone attacking from the wings. although i do recall theo being 50% fit for this game... if he is that would be great. cazorla/ozil/ramsey would certainly prefer to play in the middle but with our lack of width, we're essentially playing against 3 CBs and a jordan henderson (who doesnt matter really)

This is true. If we play 352 like we been the past few matches, we'll have only wingbacks as the wide players. So far we haven't faced a team that could hurt us through the flanks but Arsenal could be the first acid test that may overload this areas and hurt us. Should be a cracking match.

i know. would love to have Theo/Poldi/Ox at the moment. sadly none of them could make it. i think playing Ramsey on the right will probably be good like Napoli's match.

my judgement based on what I watch from Newcastle's game. at one time, it looked like Liverpool was the one that played with 10 men. I can't quite figure out what did BR do to neutralize Newcastle's attack until you got the equalizer. iinm when the Spaniard came in (sorry, can't recall his name and his position) only Liverpool looked more threatening.

Don't get me started on that match. It was hard to watch at times. Anyway not making excuses but Liverpool usually play bad after international week. We really missed Lucas in that match because Tiote was unplayable that day and the likes of Gerrard and Hendo could not match him physically. I think you referring to Alberto ? Yeah he was decent when he came in, helped us keep the ball better but the lack of urgency in our build up really hindered us and played right into Newcastle's hands.

ozil's pretty versatile, the guy can also play as a false 9 (played there for german NT, scored also) but his tendencies are to drift towards the middle, just like our other CAMs. i just hope hendo and gerrard commits to attack and leave some space for us to exploit, at least liverpool dont have a midfield destroyer. gibbs and johnson will be an interesting match up on the flanks, but i think we'll get joy in sagna's flank. i can see ozil and sagna assaulting that flank, and hopefully sagna has his crossing boots on lol

dodgy rumour of the week: monaco considers a 34mil bid for theo walcott.

regardless of the authenticity of the rumour, if a 34mil bid comes for theo i'll think twice about it, add a few more and we can bid for marco reus.

Arsene Wenger has spoken to the press ahead of Saturday’s crunch clash with Liverpool and given an update on the fitness of his squad.
It’s a mixed bag to be honest.

While Mikel Arteta returns to the starting line-up following his red card at Crystal Palace, Serge Gnabry remains out with an ankle problem while Mathieu Flamini, as expected, is sidelined by the groin problem which forced him off after seven minutes at Selhurst Park.

On the plus side, the boss thinks the Frenchman has a chance of being back for the Manchester United game next weekend, although we’ll have to do without his own brand of mental midfield harrying for a second time against Dortmund.

“Basically we have just Arteta back,” said the boss. “Gnabry will not be available. Flamini is a short term injury. Maybe he will be back for the Manchester United game.”

Despite defeat on Tuesday night to Chelsea in the Capital One Cup, the boss underlined that he and his squad are still upbeat about the season ahead: ”The mood is very positive at the moment, our priorities are the league and the Champions League.”

Update
Apparently the boss has also said that Theo Walcott could be back for the United clash as well. Presumably after a good six weeks out we’re talking about him being an option from the bench, but good to have him back in contention all the same.

the general internet gooners has been rather cautious and negative approaching this fixture, the mood went south after the defeat to chelsea.

i still think it's going to be a cracking game, if both teams bring their A game. i have little doubt that in form SAS partnership will surely be up for the game. our confidence on the other hand was chipped off by the defeats to dortmund and chelsea.

this seems like a classic Arsenal moment tho, where you expect them to fumble and fall into a really bad run of form (see Bayern last season, Aston Villa start of this season), but instead we win. i dont mind the underdog tag for this game, gotta admit the SAS partnership is the most lethal partnership in the epl atm

Flamini and Walcott both have a chance to at least be on the bench against Manchester United.

At least some positive news but against Liverpool and Dortmund we just have to do without them.

remember metesacker mistake that give hendenson the goal
his laziness to run ..if it was vermalen he would run and take the ball back..henderson wasnt strong..even the lb that replace gibbs run far way from behind to catch henderson..
summore liverpool got fast player streling, suarez, sturridge, coutinho

i thought it was long established that merte/kosc combo provides the right balance of reading/aggressive defending? verm/kosc are both aggressive defenders, sometimes they both charge onto players and especially vermaelen has shown terrible positioning whenever he got the chance to play so far. mertesacker prefers to stay in position and read the game before making a decisive tackle. there's a reason why merte wasnt played against chelsea, we need him 100% fit against SAS.

imo the flanks are key, liverpool play a 3 man defence, overloading the flanks with a full back would stretch them a lot, although this leaves space for suarez to exploit. arteta would have to backtrack a lot, and both ramsey/wilshere would have to help him out. ramsey should cut his fancy crap in front of our goal, wilshere wil initiate the counter attacks. and i really hope the Ozilla combo materializes tonight, we havent seen anything from that combo yet.

Their 3-5-2 will be cramping our midfield play. But they turned to 5-men in-line when defending thus any tiki-taka with numbers of players against them r abit risky of letting them to manage to drop back n forming their defensive of 5 men in-line n d risk of us loosing the ball with their 2 strikers ready to launch any quick counter attacking. The problem of their style is utilising much workload on d wings side with d need to do both defending n attacking, move far upfront n track back as this will drain so much energy on their both wide players. I believe their tired legs will be shown at d near end of the game n hope we'll manage to exploit it. But the problem on our side also seem that we r unable to use pacey counter attacking on d wide area bcoz we have dont have much option to do that as both our most natural n pacey wingers, Ox n Theo r still unavailable and with Podolski n Gnabry also in injury list, our wide area might not be as effective for counter attacking play. Ramsey is d only players that have so much energy level that can execute that plan at d near end of game and its might be critical moment to get d result.

Both first goal is arguably offside. Almost impossible for linesman to catch that without some technology.

Oh well, it's not like Fulham play like they deserved to be on EPL or home team.

What a super negative lineup from Liverpool. Looks like they are going to park the bus and rely fully on Suarez and Sturridge to make the difference up front.

It is now up to us to break them down and be vigilant at the back at the same time.

it's not like they have the attack options on the wings to field a different side anyway, flanagan's coming in for an injured johnson. as far as i'm concerned the flanks are ours, we only need to capitalize on it. plus the SAS combo is all they need to get things going up front.

was feeling sleepy, and now i feel pumped again

Omg I look at our bench today none can be called upon if we need to change the game. This is bad.

Where's Jack? I don't recall he's injured.
