If you are a student... u can try APIIT but they only teach ABAP (SAP Programming Language)

If you are a working adult: goto SAP Malaysia (www.sap.com/malaysia) or call 103 to get Genovate Malaysia telephone number. SAP Malaysia is located at Kompleks Antarabangsa and Genovate Malaysia is located at Menara TA.

The opportunity to work in a SAP firm is 50-50 thingie.. There are 2 ways to get into SAP industry:

a. Go through the SAP Academy .. Fee in total RM 30K (exclusive of re-sit exam fee). There is a 10% discount if you registered early. However the SAP Academy in Malaysia is limited to FI/CO, MM, SD, ABAP and not mistaken PM. More specialised academy requires you to have the previous that i have mentioned before you could take it.

b. U got to have extremely luck to get someone intro you into a SAP firm. Usually female fresh graduates has a higher chance to get into, guys had a more difficult chance of entering. There are those firms that specialised with Government (or public sectors), those specialised with Multinationals (these includes Oil and Gas firms as well as Manufacturing firms).

For me, I entered SAP Industry via option a during when the fees was lower than I mentioned above and with discount too.

recommend the second way, companies like jspc, arinso etc etc etc all will take in fresh grads and give them about 2k salary bond 2 years and do all the abapping by then you would have enough knowledge in SAP to be looking for better companies

JSPC: Mainly hiring gals .. Don't ask why.. Projects not so many but mainly focusing in Shanghai office and China projects. Malaysia projects are mainly supporting and outsourcing to other companies.

ARINSO: You only entered here unless you want to do HR project for the rest of your life in SAP Industry.

Diagonal: Oversea project (good option) but they do not do bonding with fresh grads often. If they do, usually 3 years or so (not 2 years). Main focus support and implementation.

IBM and Accenture: BIG Multinational firms only.

Teliti: Public sector projects mainly government

Deloitte: Local projects for multinational firms and also oversea projects (depends to luck).


Please take note: SAP line is not talking about how many years of experience you obtained but more to the number of project lifecycles that you have went through. ABAPping is not neccessary a must when you are brought into firm but you need to learn it. Authorization is actually a must as you need to know how the authorization works in each modules. Then data migration also is a key part of learning (but some people does not think so ).

IF you are to bond with the company, make sure you have an escape clause as your salary will be decrease for the firm to regain the investment they make on you. And be prepare to work long hours and weekend too.. Not so sweet and easy as what Lawsh has mentioned.

Do you know is there any firm like JSPC in malacca?? Coz it is more preferable for me to work in malacca as i'm staying here. But i don't think got in malacca, so far never heard of it also..
Is it important to have a SAP certificate to look for a job?? So far i know, only big company will use SAP system. Small company i don't think that is many of them using.

if you are in accounting, u can go to finance
if you are in IT and others, u can consider Logistic or Basis Technical

most MNC companies are using SAP but are short of consultants as i know.

I am a SAP Consultant for several years already. Not sure whether there is any firms in Malacca. But most are concentrate in Selangor and KL. Those outside these 2 are usually multinationals firms - manufacturings or others (end users of SAP) and they usually have their own SAP unit team within their own firms.

Refer back on my first posting. SME companies are coming to age with SAP. Slow but certain. SAP and Oracle having the fight for market share on SME. Big firms, public sectors and multinationals are moving either SAP or Oracle but in Malaysia is more to SAP (my 2 cents).

As for the SAP certificate, as I mentioned it is a 50-50 thingie.. Its all depends to the SAP firm that hires u.. but eventually they would preferred you to take the certification so that it looks good on them as well as the marketablity of you.

But if you are really looking foward to work in SAP firms, my 2 cents is try to apply Selangor and KL SAP firms and look for openings..

Certification is not a must but to certain clients in Malaysia (they preferred consultants with certification and with experiences).

Yes, actually i'm graduated from MMU(malacca campus). I went to the website to see. It only offer in cyber and is full time from monday to friday 9am to 5pm. Currently i'm working, so i a bit hard for me to take the course plus is in Cyber.

I also went to the genovate website (www.genovate.com) to take a look. For SAP they only provide training? And they offered 9 courses which include FICO, HR, SA, MM, PP, PS, PM, QM and Retail. Anyone know what is it all about? And SAP got technical and functional syllabus according to "AxonGlobal". Is it means one is main focus in programming (ABAB, R/3) ? An the other is focus more on how to implement the SAP to meet user's requirement??

And one more problem, i not sure which SAP i would like to take. Any ideas? Actually, there are how many types in SAP? Can explain?

SnowMan, can you explain to me more about SAP. Btw, which SAP system are u into? You got the cert or you work in a company and learn from there?? So envy le, i hope i have the opportunity to work and learn from the company.

I've send my resume to JSPC company. Still waiting for their reply. I ask them whether they give chances to ppl who want to work in SAP but is fresh in it. Then they reply to ask me send them my resume. Dont know qualify or not.
