Not sure where to ask it, but I just got a screw stuck in the middle of the tayar. I went to tayar shop and they have plugged the hole.
So now I am wondering if it is still safe for performance driving?

QUOTE(zeng @ May 12 2022, 06:01 PM) By performance driving if you mean high speed < 160 km/hr , then it is safe. Yes definitely under 160 KM/H but I have my concern more on the fact that car will be subjected to higher than usual corner loads which I wonder if it is okay or not.Caveat being no air leaks was detected during 2-3 days after repair. QUOTE(epjx31 @ Jul 2 2022, 10:16 PM) Seems like you confused between Primacy 4 vs Primacy 4st. Primacy 4 is used mostly in Europe while Primacy 4st is used in APAC. Just curious performance wise does it differs very much between the two as I previously looking at their PS3 range too? If i am not mistaken country of production was also different right with one made in France and the ST made in Thailand. There could be some OE Primacy 4 around but in the replacement market Primacy 4st is the one to go for in Malaysia. They are probably using different tread compound but pattern stays the same. Current price list from my table shows as below: Kumho Ecsta PS31 225/50R17 345 Goodyear EfficientGrip 225/50R17 420 Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 225/50R17 425 Continental UC6 225/50R17 450 Continental Max Contact 6 225/50R17 458 Michelin Primacy 4st 225/50R17 568 Michelin Pilot Sport 4 225/50R17 (NEW PS5) 630 If price is not an issue I would definitely recommend Primacy 4st. If not MC6 is a close finisher at second place. I made an article about MC6 vs 4st here. I hope this helps you decide. Thanks. Falken also had the same concept where its tires (ZE310) was winning various awards while there also South East Asia version made in Thailand with added "R" behind making it ZE310R. Info is hard to get by if the Thailand made was equally good as European version This post has been edited by minizian: Jul 4 2022, 11:28 AM |

For 195/55 R15, other than PS3 which is king of all-rounder.
Is there any tires that will perform better in the dry than PS3? How would RE004/Maxxis I victra pro compared with? I dont mind letting go some wet weather capability since I will be driving slowly during the rain. |

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Jan 16 2023, 10:16 PM) I've tried both, PS3 & now Maxxis Victra I-Pro with the same sized tires. Being loud is not a concern for me, how about wet weather performance for maxxis?Grip levels are comparable to PS3. The only downside are they are quite loud. Gets damn loud after 25k km. In terms of mileage, I reckon you would not get more than 40k km out of this tire. Average would be 35k km if you're a spirited driver I am concern that the way I drive PS3 may not be able to take the heat hence if i am wondering if BS re004 or AD09 will perform better in the dry than PS3 at expense of wet weather performance? |

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Jan 17 2023, 06:12 AM) Wet grip so far doesn't dissapoint. However, aquaplaning resistance is still not as good as PS3. Seems like this would be suitable for my use since I dont really tekan during wet weather.RE004 & AD09 main strong points were always on dry grip. AD09 consider as street tire right and not semi slick kan? Read some review even that it does work well in the rain even though the thread had semi slick look. One thing i noticed that RE004 tend to be cheaper than other similar type of tires |

QUOTE(amscouzach57 @ Jan 17 2023, 11:03 AM) The main USP for Maxxis Victra I-Pro is that it is cheap for its performance. Just to update, i decide to go for Ipro since the price is really cheap for its performance.195/55R15 is less than RM200 per piece Got it 159 at oscar tires klang. Not sure if I wanted to go up to PS3 in the near future or not babisotong and amscouzach57 liked this post
