Any recommendation for 235/55/19? First time looking for SUV tires. Found continental CSC5 SUV and Cross Contact UHP with this size. Michelin has Latitude Tour HP. Anyone tried these tires and what about the pricing?

Not many selling that tire so seldom hear any users feedback here, but based on various reviews in Europe, that is also another excellent tire from Hankook. I'm personally also very curious to try it if I can find for my size at price range around the V12E2 or FK510. I think if you can find your size then you should go ahead with it.

One Hankook workshop in Puchong quoted RM650 per piece. Not sure if this is reasonable, will ask around further.

Factory fitted with Goodyear Excellence

UC6 more quieter, more grip, but since it's still new, i don't want to jump into conclusion so early.

From my experience, I would rate Conti CPC2 > Conti UC6 > Michelin XM2 > GY Excellence. I personally used them myself on the size u mentioned.

Can't go wrong with michelin primacy 4. Price should be around 350/pcs.

Yeah and i am not considering cc6 too. Any idea if CPC2/ RE300 works ?

Any sifu knows if CPC2 is being discontinued? Hardly can get any CPC2 for 185/55R16

**Edited: How do the new Yokohama Bluearth ES32 Vs CPC2?
*
I have used XM2, CPC2 and UC6 before. In the wet, UC6 is quite good, I think comparable to CPC2. XM2 grip is not as good as UC6 but it lasts very long. Too long that I changed even the thread is just about half gone in 2-3 years cause I wanted more grip than anything else.

CPC2 is quite old, the current one is CPC6 but I don't think we have 185/55/16 here in malaysia. Not sure if CPC2 has been discontinued but I'd go for UC6 if grip is your main concern.

Really? I checked lazada, most of them selling RM500+
I thought RM484 is very cheap.. LOL

I changed 4 tyres last year in Puchong and was charged RM490 each including the steel valves. Miles better than the stock continental MC5.

All shops do. Never in my life I've seen a shop that only sells more than 1 tyre.

The new pair of tyres should be put on the rear. The old pair that still can use in the front
*
If you are only changing 2 tyres, put them at the wheels are that are being driven by the engine directly. Most cars are front wheel drive, so you put the new pair in front. Most continental cars are rear wheel drive so you put them at back.

Best option is rotate them occasionally so that all 4 wear out evenly and change them at the same time.

Guys, i found Lazada selling Michelin XM2 195/55/R15 for RM215 a piece.
It is consider okay?
*
I've tried XM2, hated it. Only thing I liked was the thread wear, lasted very long. Hated it so much that I changed it even though it was half worn out.

At this price, there are better options out there. Hankook V12 Evo2 or Continental UC6 (used it so I can compare) in my opinion are better and at lower prices.

I'm no expert but a quote from Michelin:

"Tyre Replacement

Where do I install new tyres if I only buy two?

Michelin recommends replacing all four tyres at the same time, however if replacing only two new tyres, be sure that the new tyres are the same size & tyre type as the current tyres and that the dealer always installs the new tyres on the rear axle of the vehicle.

Why Put the 2 New Tyres on the Rear Axle?

The New tyres will provide better wet grip than your half-worn tyres.
It will help reduce the potential for the vehicle to fishtail and lose stability in wet conditions."

Changed my stock Kumho HP91 to Hankook S1 Evo2 SUV, size 235/55/19. After driving for almost 1,000km I can safely the Hankooks are much better in almost every aspect except noise. Stocks are limited in the market now and I had to go to 2 workshops to get 4 pcs. First 2 tyres at rm550 and the last 2 at rm600. At this price range, I think it's worth the money. I was considering PS4 SUV but the cheapest offer was rm960.

Of course! Hankook in general is a much better brand than Kumho, not to mention the S1E2 is Hankook's top performance tire so surely way much better. For that size is a fantastic value already. Where did you buy? Coz this S1E2 is not easy to find.
*
I called up close to 10 workshops, most don't have stocks. In the end, got 2 pcs in Puchong, another 2 pcs in Kajang.

Is anyone using Michelin PS4 SUV tire?
*
Would like to know too. I was quoted RM980 per pcs for 235/55/19 last November. Settled for Hankook S1 Evo2 SUV instead at around RM600. I find the Hankooks tend to understeer but they are really great in the wet.

Would really like to try PS4 SUV if the prices go down further.

Same here! If someone can compare the PS4 SUB with Continental UC6, then it would be great. The price for the PS4 SUV is ridiculously high, compared to other high performance SUV tire.
*
I've used UC6 (on another car) but not UC6 SUV. It's above average I'd say. Comparing UC6 SUV with S1 Evo2 SUV, I chose the latter because it's more proven and a proper UHP tyre.

I think a more proper comparison would be UC6 SUV with Hankook Prime 3. I was quoted around RM550 for the HP3.

Are you saying S1 Evo2 SUV is better than UC6?
*
Can't say that as I have not tried UC6 SUV. I chose S1 Evo2 SUV as it's an UHP tyre sold by Hankook globally for years and there are multiple independent reviews on it. On the other hand, UC6 SUV is not UHP and it is only marketed for this region only plus it's still fairly new.

From my past experience on UC6, it's quite good in the wet. So I think UC6 SUV can't be that bad and it should be a decent tyre.

Want to ask many sifu here, do i need to change tyre or it can be fixed easily with my tayar kulit tercabut / crack spotted? (about 3mm - 4mm deep).

I went very slowly into a area with many stones (batu2) and potholes. Even so, still kena like this...

(Continental Contact MC5
215/50 R17

If it's not leaking air, you can't really fix it. I'd change it cause the damage is too near to the side wall. The tear may get worsen when you go over bumps.
