I want to buy a handheld console and I can't decide which one, I haven't owned a console in a long time or keep up with the trends at all for at least a decade now and I'm just wondering which one would be better for a first time handheld console owner?
I play almost all kinds of games but I'm kind of wondering about the pros and cons of each(battery life, etc.), the current pricing, the variety of games offered and the average price of each game.
Which one do you guys recommend?

i share you my tips what i did last time.
PSP: Tekken 6, Monster Hunter 2, FF Dissidea .
NDS: Pokemon
In the end i buy PSP coz have all the games that i wanna play. But, after completed the FF, have 5 characters with tekken god rank, tired of Monster hunter coz no fren to play with, i sold my psp and buy Nds becoz new pokemon came out.
i think this is the trend. you can always sell/trade when the game you really wanna play come out. furthermore, you have to at least change your console every 3-4 years as the new technology coming out. unless u are a rich fag. can buy every console out there.
cheers!

I am not voting bcos I don't own 3DS... I don't vote Vita as I am fed up and had enough with Sony Entertorment... Like some guys said, what type of genre you're into, just casual or main JRPG etc.? So VITA, I am going to let you know what to expect from the poor policy Sony has shoved up to his customer... if you're a casual gamer, then it may not be a big deal... But pay heed if you are very particular about JRPG/imported games, and also your preference between digital and physical copy... and choosing the PSN can be a pain in the A for people who prefer digital copies and think DLC is a must.
You will find one of the sticky situation if you don't do enough study about PSN: 1. JP PSN gives you more choices of J-games, but more expensive
2. US PSN gives you all the EN games, but ONLY EN!
3. Asia PSN, this is where it pisses you the most, not to mention there many subPSNs! HK is the hub and the one with the most contents, sticks to it will not go wrong... or so I thought... It does go wrong sometimes, especially you care about DLC! There are times you don't get the DLC for the same game released in JP PSN, well, many times it's lame content but rarely there are good stuffs albeit not free sometimes...
For casual gamer, you don't really need to bother... but the particular gamer will find it painful to switch account... The worst scenario that can happen to a gamer is, getting the digital copy and realize the account offers the full game does not however offer the DLC you want... Unlike physical cart, you can't bring your game forward to the account with the DLC you swapped to... Physical cart may still be played in any account but need to replay...
If you are a casual gamer who just play whatever games that look fun, take any picks with the games you inclined to play, otherwise, you want to give a second thought and plan wisely ahead!

PSVita if you love beautiful graphics and decent jRPGs/action games. I've bought a 3DS as well, but sold it after the next month as nothing appealed to me apart from Fire Emblem: Awakening and Kingdom Hearts 3D. Both were very good games, but no where near as excellent as Persona 4 Golden. The 3DS is famous for more social games like Monster Hunter 4, Animal Crossing and Pokemon. If you like playing with others, then yea, those are very lasting games. The Vita is more of a single player handheld. Sure, I played almost exclusively online for Soul Sacrifice and Dragon's Crown (which were REALLY fun), but for most of the titles like Murasama, Project Diva f, Zero Escape etc... I enjoy a good story a LOT. So PSVita for me. It all comes down to a personal level of preference. You will find people support either the Vita or 3DS not based on what console is better, but personal favourites. When you've found games you truly want, then we'll give you recommendations of 3DS/XL/LL or PSV1k/2k and what regions to subscribe membership etc. Hope this helps This post has been edited by pure_love1314: Dec 21 2013, 11:23 PM
