Hi, I recently just got a job offer from singapore but I have yet receive any offer letter..

However, I spoke to the HR on the phone saying I got the job and will will to apply EP for me..

But the question is 'Is it possible to apply EP without me signing any offer letter?'

I am quite confused here..

This is debatable..

Financially, you make more money, then it is not downgrade.

Job scope/responsibility wise, then it is a downgrade since a RM10K job in Malaysia is normally a directorship or something similar and a SGD5K job in Singapore is normally an officer or senior officer job.

You may then say cost of living higher in Malaysia, but Singapore is safer and not race-based, so it is really debatable.

If the person is planning to return to Malaysia after the job in Singapore, then it is certainly a bargain since the FX conversion would make him much richer..

Wait till you getting a house and a car here, then you realise you need your SG salary figure to be in MY salary figure * 2.5 to get the equivalent lifestyle here (applicable for condo only, landed you need to win Toto, for few times in a row to own one).

That RM10K salary didn't come from me. Here there are threads talking about so difficult to get RM3K job. RM10K? Far from it.

SGD5K is RM12.7K. Money wise, RM12.7K is greater than RM10K, downgrade?

Whether upgrade or downgrade, it is debatable. 

It's hard because $6K is kinda like the sweet spot where a majority of Singaporean graduates are qualified and willing to do the job. If your cousin was earning $16K or $1.6K, then he'd have much fewer Singaporeans making life difficult for him.

Can I survive with $2500 in Singapore ?

Hi guys, I read the first page and I still have things to clarify.

I got a job offer to go to SG, but I have never travelled there before, hence I do now know the living cost like.

But based on the 1st page, 600 for accomodation, 500 for food is my first step in calculating my expected salary.

I want to know, how much should I expect from my current MY salary to SG salary? Worse, this is a 12 month contract position. Basically everything is covered in base salary.

Please shed some lights.

I asked the person that called, what is the market rate like for someone like me. Basically I have around 4k~ MYR. The person said it would be around 4k~ SGD.

Hence, what I can brain is, I should include accomodation + living expenses into the salary that could be 5k~ SGD? And with the job being a contract position, I should increase it even further?

Because I have never gone out, I don't have the formula to calculate. Worry later the employer thinks I'm boasting or demand too high. If I demand that little, I worry I'm not getting paid the average.

Currently i have an offering from MNC bank in SG to work for them.
It's a big decision, since i need to downgrade and become Sys Admin. The salary is ok but need to work on shift plus every weekend.

Can i survive with 8k salary in SG?, as im not a PR & there no CPF.
Or should i move near J.B?

What shouldn't i take the fees for applying to a pass into account? Nanti boss said he has to pay extra to employ me compared to a Singaporean.

is this offer ok?..as in isit enough to survive in singapore as the accomodation alone will be SGD1000 dy...

Kinda want to skip the crowd if possible. I got tired of waiting at Malaysia "efficient" passport office for 2 bloody days with more than 8 system breakdown.

I have thought of that but I don't think it's possible since I'm planning to go sg next week (for about 2 weeks) to give it one final try. Hopefully, being physically there will help boost my chances of landing in a job.

I'm not trying to add anything but trying to conceal instead, because I've worked for a few months and those few months really don't add up to much of a working experience. So when asked if I have any working experience, I prefer to come clean, as a fresher, less hassle and lesser questions.

But I'm afraid if they can find out that I've worked a few months. If that is so, then I'll tell the truth that I've worked for a few months.
