a. Tax wise, better of in SG as the tax rates are much lower (almost a good 6-7% less of ur annual salary.. ie RM60k taxed at 10% vs S$60k taxed at 4% effective)
b. Quality of life - really depends on how you define it. if you want big house and your own car and have your extended family nearby (assuming ur from KL), msia wins. if you want convenience and relatively good public transport, singapore wins. (and I believe this changes as you age, and as you have kids)
A few things to think about is in terms of stress levels. Stress levels of a RM5k job and a S$5k is different. (i dunno how others feel, but I feel that it's bloody competitive here and that drains me on a day to day basis. Some are invigorated by the challenge, so yea.. depends on what kind of person you are)
Yeap, you are right. Your perception started to change when you grow older. Some of them choose to back to Malaysia to have their life but some convert to Singapore citizen. b. Some of them do not want the stress anymore when they are old while some already used to it to live in Singapore. Different people different perception.
