Getting Started

Hi guys, just a quick question:
What pass should I get if I'm a Malaysian working as an audit associate with a pay of <3k?
I believe auditors fall under "specialised jobs" but the Employment Pass requires a pay of >3.3k.

QUOTE(Fiona Chin @ Mar 18 2014, 10:31 PM) You answered your question. S Pass it is. Thanks for your reply. I'm assuming since there is no definitive list of occupations for each pass, we use the wage as a guide?

QUOTE(tailtwist @ Mar 18 2014, 09:57 PM) Normally when renting a room...the rental will include utilities bills like water/electricity/etc unless specified. I only know your job title will affect what pass you get even you pass the EP salary, not the other way round. Some people here said they got EP when they are below the wage requirement. Don't know how true. Maybe you can try apply EP first if you want. Ask your HR.

I think there's a few category for EP. Some are meant for fresh graduate, whereby the minimum salary serves more as a guideline rather than a mandatory requirement. Perhaps someone here can clarify.

QUOTE(yyggss @ Mar 18 2014, 08:57 PM) Thank you for the info. I think it is not a problem Dear all, how important is an air-cond in your room? Is it a necessity or a luxury? I am searching for a room around Toa Payoh? Anyone knows a room which needs to be rented out? Please PM me. I thought I could live with an air cooler or tower fan instead but now I don't think that is possible.

I live in PJ and I use air cond only at night when I'm awake - cos we have ceiling fans But then I went to SG for a couple days, felt so much hotter. Or maybe it's around the same and in SG ppl walk more.
