QUOTE(deodorant @ Jan 6 2014, 08:59 AM) Local banks maybe still got, but international/foreign banks the bulk of their back office work will either already be outsourced or in the process of being outsourced to lower cost countries. Malaysia, China, India, etc. Thanks for the reply. I'm doing credit admin currently for a singaporean bank(ironic) here in KL and am hoping to join of similar operations stuff in sg. By local banks you are refering to sg local banks isnt it? This post has been edited by Eisenmeteor: Jan 6 2014, 02:32 PM

QUOTE(vaiofxpro @ Jan 4 2014, 07:18 PM) Hi all, Newbie here... I would like to know about the income tax / any other deductions in salary. Lets say my monthly salary 3k, what will be deducted from it? Or is the tax only payable one lump sum to IRAS before end of April? Normally singapore salary is deduct for CPF contribution which eligible for PR and citizen. Other than that, maybe some company got offer charity donation which allow you to make do income tax relief. This donation will be automatic deduct from your salary after you had agree with it during the offer letter signing. Mid of April is the due date for IRAS filling. You doesn't need to pay at that time. Just wait until the notice of assessment mail it to you. You can opt for full payment or GIRO it monthly. Anyway, this is what i know from my current and past working company.

QUOTE(khchong81 @ Jan 7 2014, 02:50 PM) I plan to change a sum of money for CNY. Any money changer in SG that offer good rate? How large of a sum are u referring? For every difference of 0.01 in the exchange rate with you changing SGD1k, it is only RM10. Do you think it is worth the time and cost travelling around the island for that amount? I recommend that you go checkout the money changers around you and see which one offer you better rates. I know the money changer inside causeway point has very pathetic rates though...

QUOTE(waynefly @ Jan 7 2014, 04:12 PM) I got over 10 years experience and holding MCITP + VCP5 professional cert. I do not have any degree..... Hi, With 10 years experience and Microsoft and VMware cert, i think 4k is just below average. Maybe the non degree holder is your drawback. I'm also holding a network and infrastructure role in a financial firm. Just my opinion.
