im having an Alpine underseat subwoofer, SWE-1500, but without is amplifier, so i need an external amplifier for running it. I plan to add an amplifier which can be placed underseat too to power up the Alpine underseat active sub and my 4 door speakers. Is there any amp sufficient to boost all of them? 4 channel? 4/3/2 way? i don't really understand how it works. PLS advice.

get a 1600 above 4 channel amp

cross over 2 channel for ur 4 speaker

2 channel for ur underseat active sub

-----

FYI , i dont recommand to use underseat sub woofer because it produce more vocal then bass ...

suggest u get a 12' inch 4ohm sub woofer to get the bass / drum sound ....

i prefer underseat sub because i just wanted to add a little more bass for my listening preference and dont want to use bonnet space, currently my setup is underseat sub + 2 channel amp, both placed under left and right seat respectively. My underseat sub only 150W.

Front door speaker changed to DLS 226. I planned to change the rear door speaker as well, but hopefully can add up an amp to run all 4 speakers. But the problem is i only want to use underseat space.

better find out the ohm rating on the sub before u buy an amp..it might not match

Max power 150W
Crossover 50Hz - 125Hz
variableness (-12dB/oct.)
Input impedance 23kΩ (line input), 10kΩ (speaker input)
Phase variable range (Bass DT)

only found this, since the model not available in malaysia, difficult to find more info. the sub power not high like those proper sub, so the amp power should be lower?

you need to know the sub impedance,,,the spec above is for the amp..not the sub driver

normally when see the spec of speaker/woofer/amp, how should we compare? ohm, frequency, rms, noise level?

its a normal amp now temporary powering my subwoofer only. how about speakers? need to see ohm also?

In general you should match the rms power output of the amp with the speakers continuous power handling at the same impedance (ohm) rating. So if your sub is a 4 ohm with power handling 200watts then you'd need an amp that can also deliver rms 200w@4ohm. If your sub is a 2 ohm/200w then the amp also have to be able to deliver rms200w@2ohm.

That's why Howei said you need to know the speaker/sub specs first before choosing a suitable amp.

Thanks,so my 4 speakers are 50-80w rms/4 ohm, subwoofer i only know 150w, but ohm rating i cant find for swe-1500..
Lets say if my subwoofer is 2 ohm den i have to find an amp with 4x50w rms@4 ohm + 150w rms@2 ohm? Is this correct? So can a 4 channel amp bridged to power all my components?

Yes your illustration example is correct. If you use 4 channels then you can only power a pair of speakers (usually for the front) using 1 & 2 then bridge 3 & 4 for the sub, but have to be careful coz most amp when in bridge mode cannot handle 2 ohm, except some expensive ones. That's why you cannot just assume it's 2 ohm especially since it's a sub whereby there are many 2 and 4 ohm, even other impedance available. Because if your sub is really 2 ohm then you buy a regular 4 channel amp hoping to bridge 3 & 4 for sub but the amp cannot handle the 2ohm load in bridge mode, then you'll fry your amp! Have you check at the back of the sub magnet if got the rating there? Or try to google to find the specifications.

Alpine MRX-V70 (RM1100)

Per channel into 4 Ohms: 60W RMS x 4 + 250W RMS x 1 (14.4V at <1% THD+N)
Per channel into 2 Ohms: 90W RMS x 4 + 350W RMS x 1 (14.4V at <1% THD+N)
Bridged 4 Ohms: 180W RMS x 2 (14.4V at <1% THD+N)

i think this amp should be more than enough for all my components right?
anyway, if my subwoofer is 2 ohm but the amp output 4 ohm, then what will happen? will broke the subwoofer?
