This sucks. My OCBC Ti is mainly used for dining purposes. I average about 600-700 a month alone on dinning for this card. Seems like there is no card to replace it. Will keep this card until my anniversary month.

HLB Wise 10 swipes making it hard for me to achieve the quota. Maybe I will try Mach and dump my other grocery/petrol purchase (when it's not weekend/I've hit my Amex quota) into my AEON for 3%.

Let's list out alternative that could offer 5% rebate even though there's some restriction:

1. Citibank Cash Back Platinum
2. UOB ONE
3. ...
4. ...
*
3. HLB Mach for dining. (Capped at RM 100 per quarter)

Just calculated, I already swiped almost 9K on my OCBC TI since May. Maybe I should just keep it in my wallet for another year since I will get GST waiver anyway next May. Keep it cold and hope that something good comes back.

is not fair to me, as they do not mentioned about the 5% cancellation  shakehead.gif

Call CS to cancel the card. If you are being charged RM 50 GST, go and argue with them that when you sign up, the ONLY reason you want the card is because that you are interested with the 5% rebate. Now since that the 5% is gone, you feel that you are being cheated and want to cancel ASAP. Make sure you don't swipe anything or you have no more ground to argue.

Maybe someone should just email OCBC so we have black & white proof of it. Safer that way.

The lounge access is only applicable when you charge a total sum of RM 3k worth of air tics into your OCBC Ti card.

I won't be surprised if Maybank revise their 5% rebate soon. They have nothing to lose since after OCBC revising their rebate. Even if they reduce to 3%, they are still probably one of the best around the market (barring Wise, Watami etc which have T&C attached to it).

But I am looking forward and see what Maybank is gonna offer this 29th.

I'm very disappointed that today is the last day for this 5% cash back. Then again, is it really necessary to cut this card ? Unlimited 1% cash back is still not too bad you know ?  nod.gif  I am keeping this card for insurance and many other transactions that cannot be paid with AMEX.

OCBC Ti is good because it's an all in 1 card but NOT an irreplaceable card. I don't think the removal of 5% will affect me too much, just that I need to reorganize my purchases with other cards.

5% petrol - I don't use a lot so I will just time my pump each weekend using AMEX.
5% dining - Just applied for Mach so I will move my dining to this card.
5% grocery - No different since my grocery purchases is done during the weekend with AMEX.
5% bills - Can't find any 5% rebate card so will dump my bills to my AEON for 3% if I can't pay with AMEX.

Too bad, I intend to keep it for another year since I used more than 10K but guess I have to cancel it before my GST kick in since OCBC don't want me to do so.

Probably swiped my last transaction with my OCBC Ti just now for 5% extra at BBW book sale. Had been a great 2.5 years run as my favorite card.

Didn't receive any offer from them to upgrade me to WMC. Didn't receive any letter at all from them actually to inform me about the 1% despite being with them for 2.5 years.

Maybe my salary is <60k then so they couldn't be bothered about me laugh.gif

Just wanted to share with you the face of the guy who signed off on the recent Love Letter that we received from OCBC

http://www.ocbc.com.my/assets/pdf/Media/20.../OCBC_Cards.pdf

http://www.theborneopost.com/2013/12/05/oc...s-on-all-items/

Its funny, he says that he wants OCBC to be the favourite 'Number 2' card for every MY.

Why No. 2 and not number 1.  The OCBC Titanium was my Number 1 card and I have charged all my expenses (save for Petrol).

Now, I am not going to charge anything save for one off annual items. That also, I am rethinking as even Alliance with the combined Cash Back and Reward Points gives higher effective returns of 1%.

If I keep the Titanium, my net returns from the Card is probably going to be less than RM50 per year (after GST).
*
Maybe he knows that M2Card is the top card and cannot be toppled? I place my Amex above my OCBC.

Do OCBC send out statements when there are no transaction during the month. I didn't receive my Jan statement but don't know if it is due to not swiping for the whole of last month.

Do you receive the statement? I did not receive mine too even though i have transactions.
*
Nop, still did not receive.

QUOTE(cfa28 @ Jan 27 2014, 09:54 AM)
both me and my mrs Jan statement have not arrived. Called OCBC and they claim it was send on time, on 14 Jan.

Deadline to pay is same, end Jan and the CS offered to give me the amount so that I can pay.  Say, pay first, Statement is on the way.

But I said, what about the details, if they is a fraudulent transaction?

Asked them to fax to office.
*
If they claim to send out on the 14th, I am pretty sure it will definitely reach by last week. My OCBC and Maybank have the same statement date (12th) and I had gotten my Maybank statement beginning of last week.

Still keeping this card until I find another visa/master that can give me dining/shipping cash back of more than 1%. Maybank2card Amex is not widely accepted yet loo.
*
Mach by HLB is your best card for dining if you can't fulfill WISE criteria. 5% cash back capped at RM 100 per quarter is pretty decent.

I called OCBC for GST waiver, was told management will consider it.  They called me back 4 days later and said they will pay 50% of it laugh.gif  so I pay RM25.  So calculative eh.  But better than nothing.
