QUOTE(timing @ Nov 11 2013, 10:16 AM) is not fair to me, as they do not mentioned about the 5% cancellation From what I understood, the GST is imposed once the card is approved, yes. But if there is no active transaction done on the card, basically it can be canceled without having to pay the GST. The same applies for existing card - as long as there is no active transaction on the anniversary month, the GST can be waived if the card is canceled. You might want to call up the CS and double confirm.

QUOTE(Zer0 c00L @ Nov 12 2013, 11:50 AM) i suspect in the aftermath of this new policy, UOB will be the biggest beneficiary as IMHO the One card is as close as it gets. However for utilities, there isn't really a better card even at 1% is there? HLB Wise card (Water and Electricity only at 10%)?

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Nov 19 2013, 03:20 PM) Having a cap doesn't mean that we need to max it out. Just be happy that you are not spending too much unnecessarily Totally agree! Similarly if something is on sale, doesn't mean you have to buy, but buy only what you need.

Last weekend encounter at Tesco Kepong: UOB One Card sales was doing so well (literally overwhelming) because OCBC had changed the benefits of Titanium card. Even the card agent acknowledged that.

QUOTE(jkngo2003 @ Dec 4 2013, 10:05 AM) Traitor. i just get the card few month ago and spend more than rm10000 alr by paying insurances. nw, no more gst rebate n i oso didnt cancel the card. can anyone let me know which card is gd to pay big amount like insurance? thanks. ING and GE have their own co-branded cards with banks (ING with HLB, GE with OCBC) which also cashback, maybe good to use with large about of insurance premiums. Go check it out.

Received a call from OCBC a few weeks ago, offering me free first year GST and AF of upgrade from Titanium to World MasterCard. Finally received the card today.
This will be the card to use for 'misc' expenses.
