I guess what they mean is that there will be no more new applicants while existing holders will maintain status quo until further notice

well, if they decide to abolish and/or revise the current benefits, then all we can do now is enjoy swiping it while we still can lol

if they do cap petrol to rm10 per month then they'll be less competitive against other cards in the market for petrol.
that said though, I'm pretty most are smart enough to manage their spendings on each card to maximize the cash back / benefits |

i suspect in the aftermath of this new policy, UOB will be the biggest beneficiary as IMHO the One card is as close as it gets.
However for utilities, there isn't really a better card even at 1% is there? |

yup, of those cards, the wise card needs minimum amounts of spending, the mbb2cards only on weekends, the cashback platinum only credits the cash back upon reaching the cashback limit.
Seems like the almighty Titanium can never ever be eclipsed |

although the rebate has been revised, the card is still good to keep for the occasional big purchases.
for bread and butter types of spending (petrol, groceries, bills etc), then it might be time to source for alternatives. and wouldn't you know it, just as I'm typing this reply, gads below shows me the UOB One, lol |

yeah I'm sure they're hoping to draw in new applicants since they'd already expected to lose existing ones due to the benefits review

maybe should 'upgrade' this titanium card to the world card as a big purchase backup, 0.2% is better than nothing haha

QUOTE(victorywp @ Dec 3 2013, 10:26 AM) yes, there is no annual fee for titanium but rm388 for world (2nd year onwards). crap, overlooked that part.maybe your 0.2% saving also not enough to cover the rm388... then i guess its only good for the first year, but even the GST for the titanium is kinda hard to earn back via cash rebates alone. |

QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Dec 3 2013, 09:25 PM) Called up to ask about free travel insurance if you use the card to purchase air tickets. They told me 29th Nov onwards, the privilege is no longer valid. Dang. OCBC...remove all la =[ they moved this 'feature' upwards for the new World Master Card, as you can prolly see from the OCBC site, every single card they have is immensely simplified.most have 2 or 3 real 'benefits' listed only, a max of only 1.2% cash back on all their Malaysian line up. |

not forgetting the UOB one card.
But still every single one of those alternatives comes with terms attached, the titanium is still pretty good for large transaction amounts on transactions that don't fall into specific categories ie: insurance premium, big purchases, down payment, booking etc. 1% isn't that all bad. |

QUOTE(shawnk @ Dec 11 2013, 11:29 AM) Would that 0.2% cover the annual fee? Yes if you are big spender. There is no Annual Fee anymore on the Titanium card, however they've also lifted the spend rm10k and rebate Government tax rm50 portionAny mention of AF waiver if spent over 10,000 on existing Titanium card? |

just checked my statement, have 3 entries of cashback, one 5% and two 1% entries, kinda confusing cause for the life of me I can't get how they calculate and came up with the two 1% amounts at all

QUOTE(noien @ Dec 14 2013, 10:48 AM) same here. just saw mine too Ahh I see, that makes sense then, but the calculations still are wrong though, all my transactions are before the 29th.maybe currently they had just implemented the 1% cash back and previously was 5% and 1%. so they divided it to 5% and 1% for those before 29nov and after 29% is compile it into another 1% just my 2cent and yet, there's still a substantial amount of 1% cashback on a few transactions I suspect are between the 27th to 29th. But the cash back amounts really are depressing though lol |
