Rules of Banking T&C, "If it ain't there, means its not going to be offered".  But lets wait for final revised product sheet after 29 Nov.  Its still subject to changes, depending on how the Card performs post 29 Nov.

For sure those with Auto Debit for Telco will change.  Also for Hypermarkets, petrol, Restaurants, will see some attrition.  But the 1% unlimited Retail Spending is good for high value items such as Insurance, Jewelery, etc
*
Retail means EVERYTHING EXCEPT FOR FEES, right? Means petrol is also retail?

But I dun think I will use Titan for petrol...UOB ONE better, for petrol, hypermart, movie, telco bills...

Retail is everything except for something which is specifically mentioned. In this case, as nothing is mentioned, its safe to assume that Retail means evrything except for

1) Fees, including Late Settlement Penalty Fees
2) Interest charged on accrued balances

Titanium can be use for all kinds retail.. such as petrol, hypermart, movie, telco bill... plus no cap woor...I am just headache why you say UOB one better... i guess both card is almost the same.

I am currently using a Petrol card, of course I will not use Titanium(if I have one) for petrol, but for others, I am keen to apply titanium card for other credit card usage
*
Just a passing note, UOB may be better than Titanium as it offers >1% on certain segments such as Pharmacy, Hypermaket, Telco etc. However, one must compare total cost of ownership which includes things such as

1) Annual Fees
2) GST
3) Additional Fees when it comes to monthly payments

What do u mean by strong financial document support? Only the usual documents are needed (1) 3 months payslip (2) bank statement? My AMEX gold was presented to me without me applying for it, and my upgrade from Gold to Platinum took me less than 2 weeks only.

For me applying amex is pretty straight forward and they approved it in less than 2 hours (60min banner was there). But my friend got rejected after few days waiting. maybe because he fill in the home loan part

Same here. It's either they're sending a separate letter about the change or... they will include it in the next statement.

I doubt that. The cash back is killing the banks.

Agreed. The signs r telling. The pioneer banks like Ocbc and maybank r reducing their benefits drastically. I wont be surprised Maybank will b next to reduce their mbb2 card benefits. They've done twice this year.

The target is to achieve a certain amount of cardholders. Once that is achieved, they will have quantity to sustain or improve the profits even if some ppl stop using or decides to cancel the cards.

i think bad news won't be announced in such a big way.
probably will do it quietly (like revising the t&c without anyone knowing it). tongue.gif laugh.gif

as per informed by others it should be something to do with the 15% amex year-end-sales cc promotion.

I won't be surprised if Maybank revise their 5% rebate soon. They have nothing to lose since after OCBC revising their rebate. Even if they reduce to 3%, they are still probably one of the best around the market (barring Wise, Watami etc which have T&C attached to it).

But I am looking forward and see what Maybank is gonna offer this 29th.
