 [Help] forgot password, unable to change

icon_question.gif I stopped playing for more than 1 year. When I try to login Square Enix, I cannot remember the password and I click the "forget password" link.
An email was sent to me with a link to change password. However it will not accept the password(s) I tried. I have tried many combinations and I am very very sure all fulfil the requirement, but it just refuse.
The one time password security token is still working I think, got battery.

Any idea what went wrong?

only way is if you still have your FFXIV Registration Key, you can try the Support center with it, or if you remember you Secret Quesiton & Answer.

Hmm, i think it is because of the Security Token is generating the invalid code. It has not been used for at least 2 years. It still has good battery but the code generated is not accepted. How come this kind of thing can happen? zzz...

Just wrote an email to support. See what can they do. FF11 Playonline also cannot login because of this.

Anyway, about the new ff14, A Realm Reborn, is it a standalone product or need olicinal FF14?

wow... the phone support is really testing the patience. first round i bought italk RM20, which last for 1 hour, and finally i have to give up at 50min waiting in the queue. Second round i bought italk RM50 and at last i am answered in 45min. It is the hardware token issue, which is strange, it is removed from my account and now i can login with my old password. I have another token comes with FF14 last time but i think i better go for software token which i can remove it on my own later.

If someone is having the same issue, these are the questions the support requested:-
1) full name
2) email address
3) house address (this one i cannot provide zzz, move house every 2-3 years cannot remember which one i register)
4) hardware token serial number

As for the "A Realm Reborn", according to the support, is free for olicinal FF14 user. let me see how it goes.

i had a somewhat similar problem to u, my token software fcked up and resetted i forgot to keep the emergency password, if u email it takes forever.
So what i did was i did the live chat support. But remember it also depends if ur account is eu or na version please go to the correct support then they can help u reset ur password.
The verification they ask me one of my security question and ask me to name it out.
But u have to wait monday as ffxiv customer support is closed on weekends.
