I'd just ditch everything and use mpv standalone.

The 4.5 cycle remains quiet and stable. The latest stable Kernel is now 4.4.3.

I Was on Ubuntu most of the week and many old bugs are now part of history. The boot sequence is among the biggest changes so that I don’t get black screen issues no more. Will do a fresh install of Ubuntu tomorrow that remains my favorite one.

Kernel 4.4.3 Stable: 201602251634
Kernel 4.5 rc6: 201602281230

Hi guys,

I am using Dell workstation with dual AMD firepro v4900 cards in it. The software that I use can support openCL. The proprietary drivers with apt-get don't have openCL support so I have to use the ones from AMD directly. Installing is a total pain in the ass. I wonder if anyone here has experience installing them for ubuntu 15.10?

I have tried the catalyst wiki but it seems like those instructions are for the gaming cards.

Thats the thing. The workstation cards are not supported here. When I go to the AMD website, the driver package for workstation cards are so different. Even the list of dependencies are different.

If you use 15.10 of course everything will break lol. Use 14.04 and the drivers from here :
