I do not want to change or up size the rims, want to maintain the original specs due to the torque and power.

Yes you can opt for 225/55/16. It won't make your tire sticks out of the fenders as you're still using the same std rims. Among the above choices of 225 tires, the best ones would be the PS3, Toyo T1 Sport, and GY F1-D5. Maybe better avoid Nexen, already got report of buldging in from one member in ZTH forum.What tyres are you using?
