QUOTE(SpectacularButter @ Jun 3 2014, 12:51 PM) I just signed up for a credit card at a shopping mall and realised that the terms are not exactly as what the promoter mentioned. I called to get her to cancel but she has been ignoring ever since. If the new credit card arrive, can I just don't activate the card, cut and dispose it? Will it affect anything (i.e. in terms of annual fee etc..)? You will be charged RM50 GST even if you do not activate the card. There are always some kind of promo where you use X times within 1-2 months period upon card approval date and you will be credited back the RM50 GST (usually 3 to 4 months later). Know what are terms and conditions for your card. If you just ignore it, you will be imposed late payment and financial charges for the GST, which can have adverse effect on your credit report, borrowing loan, etc. What card did you apply btw? CC agents can say whatever they like just to hit their target.

QUOTE(SpectacularButter @ Jun 4 2014, 03:40 PM) I applied for HSBC. Promised cashback 5-8%. When I double confirm with the promoter whether the promised cashback apply for weekdays and will be permanent, she said yes and it will be "ongoing". I signed up. Went home check website - Only for weekends, until dec 2014. When I called the promoter, she said there is still cashback, but is 0.5% for weekdays About the time frame, she said the promo is until dec 2014 but it may continue on but not sure yet. I am lodging complaint. Hmm..Actually I also heard about some cases which are same as yours. Complain to HSBC and cc Bank Negara. Did you jot down the agent's name?

QUOTE(SpectacularButter @ Jun 5 2014, 10:27 PM) Yup already scanned the business card and mailed complaint. Hope something will be done. If the card arrives then I have no choice but to use it, just don't want the promoter to get commission for cheating. Good then. All the best to you. Meanwhile you may want to consider other CC such as HLB Wise, Maybank2Cards, Public Bank Visa Signature which are also give high % of rebates.

QUOTE(zero5177 @ Jun 11 2014, 10:49 AM) Too bad the point only can be used to buy something usually expensive... correct me if I'm wrong You can use the points to offset GST or redeem cash voucher, eg: AEON, Parkson, Robinson, AEON Big etc.

QUOTE(Wongchoy @ Jul 2 2014, 01:09 PM) If your income >100k then go for Public Bank Visa Signature. Otherwise your only option is CIMB Cash Back Mastercard. Or UOB Vox Card.

Let's say I have 2 credit cards under Bank A. The outstanding balance for each cc is RM1000. Can I pay RM2000 into one cc only? Does that count for paying for both cc? Or will I get charged for late payment and interest for the other cc? Tq.

QUOTE(lfw @ Jan 19 2015, 01:44 PM) 2 different credit cards under the same bank is consider 2 different accounts though they share the same CL, so you have to pay 1000 into both CC account or else you will be penalized for late payment. Thanks for reconfirming it for me

QUOTE(bash90 @ Jan 26 2015, 02:32 PM) Yeah, I've heard about that too, place an FD to get the card but dint thought of asking that when i went to maybank branch. By the way, how much FD do i have to place in order to pledge for the card? Majority I heard is RM3k, which is equal to your credit limit. But I once hear from a financial supervisor that she has a customer who pledge for RM1.5k FD and got the cards. But that's also her credit limit. You can put any amount beyond that. QUOTE(victorywp @ Mar 19 2015, 09:47 AM) it's pharmacy not grocery lol... there are many cc for grocery but not for pharmacy. Perhaps HLB Wise? But need to make sure the MCC code falls under Pharmacy category.

QUOTE(M3L7991 @ May 7 2015, 12:21 PM) Guys, i've won a cashback from BSN Credit Card. I won RM25k and the money credited into my credit card. My card limit is RM5k. Means that my card now is -RM30k. 1) Can i withdraw the money through Cash Advance? Is there any daily interest apply? 2) How can i transfer the money into any debit account or ASB/Tabung Haji or fixed deposit or public mutual? 3) What should i do? Buying a gold and sell it later when the price hike? Or can i pay the downpayment for a house? I'm thinking of buying a house..help me sifu.. ( What I am curious is how you won RM25k? What campaign is it?

QUOTE(MoneyMaker prince @ May 29 2015, 12:01 PM) Aiyer... that means you need to put in FD forever until you terminate that card. Not worth. At least you will gain interest from the FD, better than nothing.

QUOTE(MoneyMaker prince @ May 29 2015, 04:57 PM) But even if in home loan account, you still earn ( and earn more due to higher interest compared to FD) just that it is use to pay interest in home loan. Maybe the con is that when you withdraw you need to pay additional fee. Woah, if you have housing loan then better dump it in and make sure you do have extra in case of emergency. But again if your income:debt ratio is low then you might have a tough time to get CC without pledging FD. Just try apply first, who knows what will happen. Just my 2 cents.
