You can actually provide latest 1 year EPF statement instead for the 3 months payslip, but bare in mind like what other bros said, your monthly contribution of EPF have to be approximately 250+/- to indicate and proof your income to be above RM2k, that is the minimum requirement for the application of CC in most of the banks.

Hello,

I’m planning to apply for a credit card . But I don’t know whether I’m eligible or not.. icon_question.gif
So my basic is 1780 + OT + fix allowance = 3K++ every month. I hv been working for more than 3 yrs
with the same company.
I ‘m quite shy to go face 2 face with bank personal regarding this matter.I just need a simple yes or no
but if can elaborate more are very welcome.

Thanks..  smile.gif

Usually banks would prioritize your FIXED allowance/income, therefore if your fix allowance is around 300, (1780+300 = 2080) then you would be qualify for the 24k p.a. income requirements. But different banks has different policy, but generally i think they would prioritize FIXED allowance/income then only the VARIABLE income (Overtime claims etc.)

does having a large but unused credit card limit help with obtaining loans?(housing and personal in particular)?

example, rm30k credit card limit, but monthly bill settled consistently or maybe only rm2-3k outstanding.

No for unsed credit limit as it would not affect how bank approve your application for personal financing/housing loans in particular.

Yes it would affect your application in general as you consistently settle your payment and kept your outstanding at a lower level as bank would put into account that you're a good paymaster as you consistently pay on time and it would somehow raise your chance of future loans application based on your previous payment parterns.

just would like to know which bank is more lenient or generous in approving credit card application provided I have no credit card at the moment. would like to use the card for petrol to earn cash rebate. I tried applying in February but was rejected by ambank and Citibank. should I try another bank or try next year would be better?

Did your bankers state any reason of rejection? you could try UOB One card though, its one of the best interms of petrol to earn cash rebates, heard it was quite linient in terms of approval.
