I currently have 4 cc from 3 banks (one of them is mbb2card)
I want to get another from cimb cause of that cash rebate card and rm150 that they are giving out for online applicants. Since i'm currently debt-free and will continue to be, for at least one more year, so getting another cc shouldn't hurt right? Well, even if i want to get a tiny car loan (in case I change job and need a car then) should be ok as long my income can support? Note, i have always settled my cc in full. But my current exposure is at 60% of my annual income. I dont know if that's high.
really itchy and really want that money from Cimb.
Can i be hand itchy and apply for 5th cc from 4th bank?
Edit:chances of needing a car is low. If it matters. Places i work are in town. I hate driving

QUOTE(cfa28 @ Oct 14 2014, 02:32 PM) Dear Sifus, Bank Negara Malaysia (the Bank) is issuing a concept paper on the Payment Card Reform Framework (the Framework) for public consultation. The Framework aims to foster an efficient, transparent and competitive payment card industry in Malaysia, in line with the Bank's statutory mandate under the Financial Services Act 2013 and the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 and the recommendations outlined in the Bank's Financial Sector Blueprint. The Framework seeks to ensure that any increase in the acceptance cost of payment cards is reasonable by establishing an objective and transparent mechanism for the reimbursement of fees among players in the payment card industry. Complementing the mechanism, the Framework, among others, also introduce measures to promote greater usage and acceptance of cost-effective payment cards through the use of correct price signals and empowerment of merchants. Members of the public, industry players and other relevant stakeholders are invited to provide written comments on this concept paper. Please submit all written comments to the following address or email to payment@bnm.gov.my latest by 10 November 2014: http://www.bnm.gov.my/index.php?ch=en_pres...ac=3081&lang=enhttp://www.bnm.gov.my/guidelines/50_others...m_Framework.pdfWith this framework, in future, i think we won't be having so many credit cards with 5% and above cash rebate... less perks. somewhere in the concept paper, they wrote that merchants pass the cost of higher MDR even to those not using payment cards. they didn't consider that, even if MDR is lower, merchants NOT gonna reduce price. in the end, feels like consumer is at the losing end. HAHA. sad sad... will be having boring credit cards like australia. blek... and we still need pay RM50 GST.

QUOTE(mieza @ Nov 13 2014, 04:57 PM) Hi. I would like to ask simple question. I would like to purchase personal insurance for myself. I would like to pay it using cc. My agent suggested to me, pay using easy pay for 1 year. Lets say monthly cost for insurance is RM200. 1 year equal to RM2400. Is there any hidden cost if using easy pay? Can I really pay RM200/month like normal without additional cost? Thx. Based on my guess (your insurance is investment-linked) 1) Whether you choose to pay annual or monthly mode… your insurance premium is still RM2.4k annual or RM200 monthly. Given the nature of the investment-linked insurance itself, there are advantage and disadvantage of yearly vs monthly payment. 2) The agent mentioned easy pay at 0% probably it’s the arrangement between the bank and the insurance company. But get some black and white that says 0%. I’m sceptical about agents. Motive here is want to close and lock-in sales asap that they are pushing for yearly payment. Not to mention it’s already year-end. I don’t know what company or what insurance plan or what easy payment is really being mentioned to comment further.

While filling out employment application form... my possible future employer asked...
1) are you financially in debt? well... i'm debt free except for the BT 0% to Maybank... it does count right?
2) because one of the details required are, type of loan. so BT is what type of loan?
EDIT:
3) they ask if i have any financing facilities with BANK xxx?
so... does credit card falls under financing facility or not?

QUOTE(victorywp @ Dec 13 2014, 09:41 PM) 1) no, i believe it doesn't count 2) bt is not a loan, just a cc debt, or if you want, can call it cc loan 3) yes thanks. if having done BT doesn't count as i'm in debt, i dont need to answer further on what 'loan' i have. unless there's a 3rd person who disagrees and says BT is in a way putting me in the group of 'financially in debt'.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jan 9 2015, 10:42 AM) BNM ruling - 1. Annual income has to be RM24K to be eligible for CC. 2. Max COMBINED Credit Limit for those earning less than RM36K shall not be 3X monthly salary. is that recent change? max credit limit has always been 2x monthly income per issuer right? never heard of combined limit.

QUOTE(Puteih @ Feb 8 2015, 10:51 PM) I could not understand why they can't stop the money flowing process where I have instructed them to do so. I asked them why and their answer is just they cannot do anything about it. think about logic... if after you swipe your card, you can call in and stop payment, then it's not fair to the merchant right? i think that's the reason la, maybe other sifu can enlighten if you follow around this CC subforum, there are people who had/has the same problem. not many but noticeable.

QUOTE(Bonescythe @ Feb 15 2015, 05:02 PM) ok.. lets say i pay using hong leong bank credit card thru this payonline channel.. how fast will the amount be reflected in the credit card? Let's say i need to pay 5k amount of bills. But my card limit is only 3k.. If instant reflection of amount, I can clear the 3k, and make the limit available again, and then pay the remaining 2k. If it doesn't reflect immediately, means i need to pay the next day.. if say your limit is 3k, you can "deposit" 2k to your cc right? then you can swipe 5k in one go? although i dont think that's the solution you are searching for... not sure, discussion sake. PS: in many ways... hlb is way behind other banks... it's only few months back that they started estatement, when i believe maybank had it for years? very few bills are payable via credit card on hlb connect. sadly... QUOTE(glauncher @ Mar 11 2015, 01:07 PM) Hi guys, want to ask...I've been buying from a local pharmacy about 10k a month. Wondering which card suit me best to get rebate? will be great if got mb 3-5% off my bills... Given the amount of 10k a month, which is huge, you can try aeon watami 3%, but only minimum 3k spend per QUARTER, rebate up to RM150 which means up to RM5k spending per quarter. (which is still far from what you spend. Else you can go for HLB Essential or OCBC Great Eastern. UNLIMITED 1% cash rebate. More straightforward. If by local pharmacy you mean, Watson, Guardian, Caring, Citibank Cash Rebate/UOB One gives 2% rebate, uncapped.

QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Sep 13 2015, 09:04 AM) just out of curiosity, how many cards can we apply from d same institution? Out of logical thinking, I don't think there is a limit. Most likely you share the same limit on the cards by same bank. Depends on one's record?
