I agree with victorywp, why would the bank simply return the money? Surely there must be investigation?

THen now i hard to apply credit card jo.. sien lor.. Payslip and Bank Statement also got, but still give reject. Those have other which not so straight on CCRIS?
*
Once CCRIS black, you very hard to apply any credit card. Pay off your loans then can talk. Till then, no choice lor. Banks always protect themselves, if you got history of not being able to pay, even how much you earn they won't want.

Just curious... roughly how much commission can one agent/bank staff make when he/she successfully gets someone to sign up for a credit card? Sometimes I see them like die die want you to sign up, follow you walking in the mall till like 50m or so..  sweat.gif
Surely there are people here working in the banking industry..  biggrin.gif
*
Depending if its bank employee (got fixed income, just go there because forced, these won't bother) or third-party contract work (no fixed income, high KPI to meet in terms of cards per day, all income tied to sign-ups).

thanks for the reply, i think if need pay extra rm78 than normal price, then it still is managable, when ppl said the interest rate is ridiculous, what i imagine is like..rm2000 total will be like rm3000...again, thx for the englightment
*
You consder it managable? Compared to waiting for 4 months and not paying RM78 (even earning a few cents on interest)? Bad financial management that way.

Paying interest is so that you can get a benefit. For example loans to start business or to purchase a property which increases in value. Or loan for a car so that you can get to work.

Hi,

Can I use credit card balance transfer to
pay my CC debt?

I would like to pay my CC debt of 4k and cancel it.
Don't want to use CC anymore.

Sorry for asking this, I'm not well versed in banking.
*
Balance transfer is transfer of debt, so instead of owing to your original bank A you now owe to bank B.

Its advantageous to you because bank B probably will give you a period of low/no interest (normaly 6 months 0% interest I think) which gives you more time to pay. But this will require you to apply bank B credit card.

If you have RM4k on hand no need, just pay it off and cancel your card. Otherwise take a balance transfer and you'll have more time to pay. No matter what need to pay, of course*.

how does the bank define our annual income? is it based on our monthly salary for 12 months or 12 months salary + annual bonus?
*
Mostly based on 3 months EPF times 4. If you got EPF of your bonus in there will look like more.

Is it a norm for you to disclose your payslips to the banks in your credit card application? I understand they are bound by confidentiality but my contract clearly states that my salary should not be revealed to third parties... Any thoughts or experiences?
*
Almost all bank will request payslip. If your contract state so then just ask the bank whether EPF statement alone sufficient. But EPF statement can see your salary as well, just that can't see what company it comes from only (AFAIK)

If they have stated it, i am still ok..but there was one time, a cashier at guardian pandai pandai said cannot...

I also don't bother to complain, but because of our own attitude to accept this practice will always continue. I prefer to be able to spend even RM2 with credit card, because getting 1%/2%/5%/7%/10% back is always better than getting 0% (and reducing liquidity).

But has anyone actually complain to visa/master before? Actually gotten result? I know bigger shop (example ACE hardware) just accept CC only, but almost all small shops set limit.

Sometimes, very rarely, the merchant forget to post or more likely his worker made a mistake, lost the receipt, etc.

According to my financial records, there was one petrol pumping I did a year or so back that never got charged to me =) but that's at a petrol station I always use, and only ever happened once. Rezeki jangan ditolak rclxms.gif

fake calls from different banks yet the same number you stated? or it can be any number other than that? i need to save it in my phone contact list. notworthy.gif
*
Can be from any number. They can spoof from the actual number of any bank or any company. So no point to save any number in your phone contact list, just don't layan if people say they calling from bank and ask for anything, like verification or whatever. If they say they're from a bank, you just hang up and call back the bank yourself.

Hi all,

Yesterday my maybank mastercard(apply with amex) was fraud for online transaction. How come some of those online transactions doesnt need MSOS code to proceed and some need MSOS code to proceed? My cards successfully go through 9 transactions over 30 attempts..

Me myself also curious sometimes I purchase online, doesn't need MSOS as well..

Example I purchase phone in Xiaomi Malaysia website payment through Paypal, I dont need wait for MSOS code to proceed..just key in credit card number, name and the 3 digit code will do..

My concern is, what is the most secure credit card that I can get for online purchase?
*
The MSOS is up to merchant whether to implement or not. And any credit card also similar in terms of vulnerability, in my opinion. Just set the SMS alert limit low and immediately contact the bank. A bit mafan, but the losses they tanggung not you.

Maybank2kard give you a lot of points..but cash back option is limitee to weekend and got capping.

looking at my usage, a straight cash back without barriers is the best choice..
So shud be only ocbc and hlb essential
*
Well, treatspoints is not cash but is 2x the value (each treatspoints effectively 0.4 sen). Redeemable as cash at a variety of places via vouchers or direct exchange etc.

For your huge bill, you can buy your next phone/laptop easily using treatspoints, no need to look at exchange for small small RM50 vouchers.

QUOTE(Styrroyds @ Oct 13 2014, 06:48 PM)
you're right

and before you apply for either of those, just make sure their credit limit is sufficient for your use... especially if your bills cost 20k+ per month

btw, water bill (syabas) is only payable via savings/current account.
*
Even if credit limit not sufficient normally can pre-pay. Still gain relative to paying directly.
