QUOTE(victorywp @ Jul 23 2014, 02:55 PM) yes, it's easier to get approval if you apply through cc booth than if you apply from the branch. i tot its the same since the approval is from the bank itself? or this cc booth agent has magic word makes the application easier to approve?

QUOTE(shawn87 @ Jul 23 2014, 03:15 PM) i tot its the same since the approval is from the bank itself? or this cc booth agent has magic word makes the application easier to approve? there's a certain target to achieve from booth sales, so its easier to get approval unless you really not qualified. think in this way, if a bank pays to rent a booth at a shopping mall and hire salesperson to push their cc, but from those submission they reject most of them just because of small/tiny issues, so does it worth the marketing expenses?

I disagree that it is easier to get approval if it is submitted to the booth. At the end of the card, approval is handled by a different department.

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jul 23 2014, 03:57 PM) Still, it does not prove that the approval is easier. Different bank different criteria cimb bank only ask for my epf statement.. they said epf and IC itself is enuff (as written in the form 'epf statement or payslip or xx' i cant remember) end up got rejected even though i fulfil the criteria.. i would say that bank staff is not that familiar in this credit card application process/procedure. for booth they r expert already.. they know what exactly bank/ approval department wants to get the card approved. i would say its not easier to get approval but its more efficient and easier This post has been edited by shawn87: Jul 23 2014, 04:07 PM

Would you choose to submit your application through booth instead of card centers? i submit my application through fax/email/online form, and i still get my CC approved but i will not state that it is easier compared to other methods. add: The reason i disagree on this is because there are booths with logo and all, but manned by agents, not bank staffs. We all know there are many cases of unethical agents and readers might get the wrong idea if there is a claim that approval is easier through booth. QUOTE(MGM @ Jul 24 2014, 11:05 AM) You mean once retired, one can no longer apply for new credit card? Can investment income from UT or ASx be used? Bro, very tough based on my experience. I want to increase CL for my Maybank CC also susah, however, did not really try very hard as they always entertain my request for Temporary CL. Dividend from UT/Stock usually not taken into consideration as it is not taxable income and not guaranteed. Some banks may entertain FD interest but not necessary. Rental income can be considered becasue technically you have to declare in your Borang BE. Of course there are ways to get credit card when one retires - Premier Banking and or pledge FD.

Then must plan to keep those with lifetime free AF like OCBC Ti , CIMB CB Platinum and MBB2Amex.

Bro, if you had read Premier Priority Privilege Banking published years ago at my Ringgit Wise Fool blog, these 3 banks NO NEED maintain minimum AUM like Citibank, HSBC or SCB. One time deposit in to FD (when got promo) and then take out, hahaha
