I will swipe thrice for both cards, get back my GST rebate after 6 weeks, then cancel the card to teach him a lesson. Just wanna confirm with sifus here whether it is within 3 months or 6 months of cancellation that agent wont be entitled to his commission. Can anyone shed some light?
*
iirc it is 6 months but it doesn't sound like teaching him a lesson to me at all

For me, whether they take action on the agent or not is secondary. More important, bank negara is aware and more likely they can see a pattern and when anything major happen (complaint from a victim), the previous reports will substantiate the event.

surely they are aware, but again whether they take any action or not is another matter whistling.gif
we kept seeing same cases again and again, they cud have warn/suspend the banks license so the banks will pressure their sales not to do it
whoever does it for a certain number of times get permanent ban across the whole financial industries, then do you think any agent would try to pull off this stunt again?
*
i agree. problem is, customers are not complaining too so these unethical agents dare to do so.

Need help from all the sifus.

What happen to all the credit card debts if the cardholder passed away?

My father in law passed away last week and just found out he has a lot of credit card debts.  Don't know what to do now.

Need advice.

Maybank CC user here. I always pay my credit card statement immediately when they appear online, but I kinda overspent during a recent trip recently.

Minimum payment amount: RM0.00
Outstanding balance: RM2,765.11  Pay Any Amount Now
Statement balance: RM957.04  Pay Now
Payment due date: 26 January 2015
Statement date: 06 January 2015

I've already paid the RM957.04 online a few days ago, but it still shows that amount there. Why?

Also Minimum payment amount is RM0. Meaning I won't get charged anything extra if I don't clear my outstanding balance this month?
*
after you settled the 957.04, your outstanding balanced reduced by 957.04 or still the same?

the statement balance will only change in your next statement

It remained at RM957.04 before and after I paid that RM957.04.

What exactly is Statement balance? The balance I must make sure to pay before each bill cycle, or kena charge interest?
*
i meant your outstanding balance, not your statement balance.

Yes, pay your statement balance before statement due date to avoid charge.

Hey Guys, got some really bad experience with HLB service and would like to seek for some advise.

In November 2014, I have decided to cancel my HLB credit card, I send request via HLB online (Replied me once for confirmation then no more reply from them), I called CS and they help me to submit the card cancellation request, few days later, someone from HLB credit card department called me and told me that I still have reward point yet to redeem, they are unable to process with my card cancellation untl all my point is being redeemed. I stress that I would forfeit my reward point and proceed for card cancellation, in the end they insist they can't do that. She add on I shall redeem the reward and call the CS to cancel the card before March 2015 so that no annual fees will be charged.

In the end of December 2014, I submitted my redemption through HLB online.

January 2015, I notice HLB charge me RM160 for annual fees and I called their CS. CS told me they will waive the annual fees for me, he said I don't have to pay any amount and they will waive the annual fees in my next statment.

05 February 2015, I receive my statement, they didn't waive my annual fees and charged me RM10 for late payment and RM2.25 for interest. I called their CS again, this time the CS said, I should pay the balance RM172.25 first only they can waive for me.

My question is, if I really pay the RM172.25, will they really waive for me? The company is really untrustworthy. Now I am being charge for late payment, will it affect my record for future loan application?

P.S: after 1 month+ I still not yet receive my redemption reward, they said they will check for me, but no reply from them.

Send an email to Bank Negara and provide all the timeline + evidence.

I have sent an email to Bank Negara (bnmtelelink@bnm.gov.my) in 6 November 2014 and ask them regarding the bank did not approve my card cancellation due to my reward point balance but I got no reply from them.

I also logged a complaint to NCCC (nccc@nccc.org.my) on 16 December 2014, they acknowledged and attending my complaint, but until today there is no reply from them too.

What evidence can I provide since most of the time its only the conversation between me and CS, shall I record the phone conversation everytime i call the CS?
*
Bank Negara always respond to my emails within 1 week. Re-send.

State the date and time, and if you know the CS name. The bank has the recordings.

In future, make sure you use black and white for card cancellation matters.

Thanks for the feedback. I will prepare all the relevant information and write in to Bank Negara once again.

I have sent an email for the card cancellation for the first time during end of October, they replied me once for my confirmation, I confirmed and that is where the case ended. I got no reply from the bank and so I called up their CS to follow up and they said they don't have any record regarding my card cancellation request and if I wish to cancel, the CS can help me to submit a request.

As for the reward point thingy, I insisted that I will forfeit any reward point or whatever, I just want to cancel my card (I repeated at least 3 times) and the CC officer said unfortunately they are unable to process my card cancellation.
*
That card cancellation email and the subsequent confirmation email will be good as evidence. Next will be the chronological timeline. Good luck.

Added info, provide your name, IC No, credit card number and address when you email to Bank Negara. Bank Negara will forward your email to the bank and CC to you. The bank is given 14 days to respond to you.

okay.. will go that way...~~ xD
coz yesterday got two people from citibank and maybank try to sell their credit card
first is citibank.. i felt i m a bit stupid~~ the person oso didnt explain much.. then i sign dy @@
then he just simply explain this and that
but then i ask him to hold first.. dun submit first due to some personal reason @@
then he said will call me after CNY see whether can submit or not
later i go to ground floor.. people from maybank intro me their card oso..
feel much better.. explain better then just let me sign..
not sure whether i can cancel the submission of citibank credit card or not?
he got all my info and sign dy TT
*
Next time, do not simply sign before knowing what the product is about. There are so many cases similar like yours. Anyway, if you do not want the citibank card, get it void as soon as possible.
