if you already signed up that cimb petronas platinum mastercard, use it instead of maybank mastercard.
at least the benefits/features in that cimb mc is better than the mbb mc.

but does CIMB petronas able to enjoy 0% installment thru easypay?

0% epp should be a feature for all cimb credit cards.

**if you have further question regarding this, you may just post on the other thread (cimb cc thread).

hi, just wanna ask, if bank calls up and ask if interested to signup for their credit card, and unfortunately said yes, is it considered as a proper Credit Card application? My wife received the credit card already, but not activated. It is not her intention to get the card though. Is it possible to cancel it? Not long after receiving the credit card, the bill of RM50 reached. How to cancel it and not paying that RM 50? It is from CIMB.

did your wife went through a voice recording with them for the application?

just call the bcs and fill in the cimb cc termination form and fax/email to the cs. tell them that you were not aware about this cc application stating that you were busy and not fully understand about the product (cc). smile.gif

I believe you need to provide more specific details. There're so many cash rebate cards out there.

almost all banks have at least one of their cc type which is offering cash rebate system.
so it's hard for us to recommend something that is too general.
maybe you can go for the easy, straight forward, uncomplicated, clear cut one like ocbc titanium (mastercard) which offers 1% unlimited rebate on everything you spend.

Presently using direct access issued by CIMB
Master offer points and Visa offer cash rebate of 0.50%
Looking forward to both Master & Visa tat offer cash rebate plus if possible higher than 0.50%

Well, you can consider:

1. MBB2 AMEX for 5% cash rebate on weekends or
2. Citibank Cash Back Platinum or UOB ONE for 5% cash rebate everyday with spending cap
3. OCBC Titanium for 1% unlimited cash rebate daily

Hey there guys, I was just wondering as to how the calculation for the interest rates on outstanding balance works for Citibank.

Lets say the amount outstanding is RM1,000.00. I read on the FAQ on their website that a daily interest rate of 8.88% per anum is applicable.

Hence, would I be right in assuming that the 8.88% is divided by a year (365 days) and then charged on the outstanding sum daily?

By that calculation, it would be an interest of RM 0.243 cents for the first day.

And the interest on the subsequent days are calculated with the total outstanding (including interest already charged). Right?

Does anyone know a good airmiles credit card that is foreigner-friendly? I'm nearing my limit of giving up altogether since all of the banks I know put ridiculous (IMO) terms for foreigners. FYI, my annual income (depending on the exchange rate) is approximately MYR 120,000. I have posted in the Recommendation thread, but alas, no one gives reply. unsure.gif

Thanks for replying. CIMB actually got CIMB Enrich card, which I think is pretty cool. It's just they need a fixed deposit starting from RM50,000 for foreigner to apply this card. I've only been working for like 4 months right now, so still don't have that kind of money. sad.gif

Just got in contact with HSBC yesterday. I figured that their rewards program isn't that bad for their Visa Platinum or Signature card. Let's see how this goes. smile.gif
