QUOTE(shawn87 @ Jul 23 2014, 04:05 PM) cimb bankĀ only ask for my epf statement.. they said epf and IC itself is enuff (as written in the form 'epf statement or payslip or xx' i cant remember) So what about those card centers. Would you choose to submit your application through booth instead of card centers?end up got rejected even though i fulfil the criteria.. i would say that bank staff is not that familiar in this credit card application process/procedure. for booth they r expert already.. they know what exactly bank/ approval department wants to get the card approved. i would say its not easier to get approval but its more efficient and easier i submit my application through fax/email/online form, and i still get my CC approved but i will not state that it is easier compared to other methods. add: The reason i disagree on this is because there are booths with logo and all, but manned by agents, not bank staffs. We all know there are many cases of unethical agents and readers might get the wrong idea if there is a claim that approval is easier through booth. QUOTE(victorywp @ Jul 23 2014, 06:19 PM) the booth i meant was the official booth set up by banks for temporary event, surely not the ones manned by agents. then you have to be specific in your reply earlier, booth could be manned by agents last time i applied and submitted my application in a branch but was rejected. but i refilled the application form and used the same documents and submitted to their official booth during an event and approved. |

QUOTE(wikzs @ Aug 8 2014, 10:35 AM) Hi sifus, Do you own the maybank 2 cards? In your opinion, if I have to choose between MBB Visa Signature and Visa Infinite, which one should I go with? For Signature - I only use roughly RM200 for fuel and RM500 for groceries per month, so I don't think I can consistently cap the 5% cashback. I don't travel overseas that much as well so the Plaza Premium would be largely wasted on me. If they have something equivalent for domestic then I'm all for it though. For infinity - I'm not a golfer, so the golf privileges are wasted. I do prefer the 2x local purchase points, since not all outlets accepts AMEX for the 5x. The airmiles conversion is really sweet too. I wouldn't be able to hit 50k for annual fee waiver on both cards, so I prefer to apply for just 1 of them. |

QUOTE(angelnkj87 @ Aug 27 2014, 05:52 PM) Hey...I got a confusing problem here and hope someone could answer my question. I have a friend who's income less than 36k per annum. But she is able to apply for more than 2 cards from different issuing banks. Would like to know if it is possible. it is not more than 2 different issuers, not cards. |

I have a question on installment scheme using credit card.
From various threads/websites, i come across terms like: EzyPay for Amex Card Easy Payment for Aeon CC For the above installment scheme, we need to call up the issuing bank and request for the paid amount to be converted to installments, am I right? Different banks will have different % interest charge or offer. And also, in this mechanism, the bank will pay the whole amount to the merchant first, and then we service the monthly installment to the bank. If let's say a merchant (not bank) inform me that I can go for an easy payment plan with 0% interest regardless of the CC type or bank, does it mean the easy payment plan is offered by the merchant and not the bank? In other words, the merchant will charge my CC every month throughout the period. Is this possible? Why will the merchant want to suffer a loss ie. 0% interest and did not get the payment instantly? Please shed some light, thanks |

QUOTE(victorywp @ Sep 7 2014, 01:01 AM) if a merchant (not bank) offers you instalment plan with 0% interest, you need to pay to them every month by cash. For my case, the price is fixed regardless of one time payment or epp, 0% interest, so the choice is obvious. From your description at paragraph 2, it means no matter what is the situation, the bank will pay the sum in one shot to the merchant, and then the bank claim the money from us monthly, am i right?if they offer you 0% interest regardless any cc type, means they actually have instalment plan with all the major banks. their profit margin is high enough to cover all the instalment. for instalment plans, usually banks will charge around 5% to the merchant. i did mention before. some merchant mark up 5% additional on top of their profit margin, just in case the customers wants to do payment by instalment. if the customer doesn't want instalment (but still want to pay by cc), the merchant can give 2.5% discount. if the customer wants to pay by cash, the merchant can give another 5% discount. but of course, this only apply to those smaller scale merchants. However, the applications were rejected despite me having a few active housing loans back home with good repayment records. maybe try applying credit card from the bank that you are having your house loan with? Are there any ways to go around this? It would he useful to have a Malaysian credit card as I back home very often. Any advise is much appreciated. OT: you are working at which property in macau? |

QUOTE(infernoaswen @ Sep 12 2014, 08:16 PM) Hi guys, want to ask which card is more suitable for me to get cashback? I spend only RM200 monthly on petrol, no grocery etc. Don't really have other expenses.... If you are looking solely for a petrol cashback card, you may have a look at Maybank Ikhwan card. UOB card has quota for its petrol cashback (this is what i understand from the UOB thread).I calculated if I get the maybank amex card, 5% cashback on weekends. RM200 x 5% = RM10 x 12 = RM120 - RM100 (service tax) = RM20 UOB card: RM200 x 5% = RM10 x 12 = RM120 - RM50 (service tax) = RM70 (but UOB cashback is only for BHP? ) Clearly UOB is a better choice compare to others right? Is there anything else that I need to know? 60 swipes to get annual fee waived isnt a problem I think, means I just need to pump petrol 5 times a month. I read before saying "uob set allocation of rm900k cb ", what does this mean? Is there any other better cards that will probably suit my needs? QUOTE(Lineage @ Oct 9 2014, 05:55 PM) Hi all, My M2visa just got affected too. Interesting because most of the fraud cases belonged to Amex. May I know the name of the merchants?Yesterday my maybank mastercard(apply with amex) was fraud for online transaction. How come some of those online transactions doesnt need MSOS code to proceed and some need MSOS code to proceed? My cards successfully go through 9 transactions over 30 attempts.. Me myself also curious sometimes I purchase online, doesn't need MSOS as well.. Example I purchase phone in Xiaomi Malaysia website payment through Paypal, I dont need wait for MSOS code to proceed..just key in credit card number, name and the 3 digit code will do.. My concern is, what is the most secure credit card that I can get for online purchase? |
