actually it will reduce the amount of your loans eligibility whenever a credit limit is given to each of your card (although you have not fully utilise it). credit limit will be viewed as a type of loan because there are chances that one day one will fully utilise all their cc's cl when they are in need of money.

uh -oh, that will be a concern sweat.gif

I call PBB to apply for a credit card. I fill in the form, submitted, but nothing on my end (no confirmation). I sent an email this morning asking about the status, they CS said need to submit my IC and EPF statement.

I call again just now, CS said need to submit the download the form (?), IC and EPF statement. I don't know which form CS mentioned about, I just filled in the normal online form.

Lack of feedback or respond made me wonder of sending my IC and EPF statement to their email address. Just worried.

Any thought?

Please read through the bank's website. They will specify what are the documents that you need to provide for credit card application.

The hardcopy form for a newspaper subscription requires credit card no, expiry date and CVC no.

I informed the company (a reputable company) that I do not wish to state my CVC no. and the company said okay, just the card no and expiry date will do. No signature is required on the form either.

I am wondering, can the company charged my credit card with just these 2 information? And if it is indeed possible, am I exposing myself to unauthorized transactions in future?

now my maybankard amex is approved, then i realize actually many of my usual online payment thing cannot swipe online or not accepted.

1. my etiqa cannot do monthly premium payment? only pay yearly? (read from somewhere)

2. my internet is not glorified uinifi so might not accept amex as well(still inquiring)

3. my maxis bill auto debit did not really maximise the weekend 5% because it never falls on saturday(maybe 2.85% according to some LYNer). now i have to request monthly and wait for call back from maxis to process the payment by amex.

all others are ok but still, the above were my monthly commitments i used to pay swiftly via maybank2u...i can still do so but it defeated the purpose of me applying MB2G then....lol.

lol, means my amex card only for weekend dining, groceries and petrol...which about RM400-500...usually i can only reach around RM1k of CC usage in total.

then i of course i need to divert my insurance(GE, internet bill-if cannot use amex) and other weekdays usage to another card. I initially wanted to get watami(have not apply yet) because of the 3% cash back, but now seems i need to reach RM1000/month at least to accumulate the quarterly cash back, i hesitated.....because with petrol and groceries already put into amex card, i can't reach RM1000(only occasionally when i go on some shopping spree, which is not much).....

please shed me some lights, do i still proceed with watami card, or is there another card to compensate the spending that amex card cannot be used? or just stick to the MB2G and use mastercard for the pity 1TP.
*
You can pay TM streamyx using AMEX too.

RM500 spending using AMEX gives you RM25 cashback per month + 2500 TP, multiply that by 12 months and it is considered good already.

If you still want another card, the next best option is maybe those giving you 1% cashback or maybe UOB one card.

Hmm i do actually have a alliance visa gold given by the bank with my house loan which give me 0.85%-1.3% (depending on different tier) cash back and timeless bonus. Maybe i can keep this card for weekdays and unable to use amex.
*
well yeah, as long as you are able to gain from using that card.

Not Sure with Newspaper Subscription...
But 100% Confirm with Reader's Digest They only Need Your Cardmember Name, Card no. (visa/ Mastercard) Card Expiry Date Fill-in the (Payment Advice Slip) to Process the Subscription (Order).
If U Choose Pay by Installment  they auto-deduct from Your Credit/ Debit Card Account monthly, so far No Problem on Me, Nothing Bad Happened yet

alright thanks. so cc no and expiry date is somewhat the norm.

my wife manage to buy something through public bank 0% 12 months installment by just giving her name, IC, card # and expiry date over the phone

yes, the danger is there, anyone unethical can charge your card with these info, but you can always dispute it
*
alright thanks. it comes as a surprise to me that people can charge our cc without the cvc code.

I just signed up for a credit card at a shopping mall and realised that the terms are not exactly as what the promoter mentioned. I called to get her to cancel but she has been ignoring ever since.

If the new credit card arrive, can I just don't activate the card, cut and dispose it? Will it affect anything (i.e. in terms of annual fee etc..)?
*
simple. just lodge a complaint to the bank. give details and state the name and contact of the agent.

at the same time, in future, be a smart customer. read up everything in detail before signing up.

Hi all,

Quick question, I currently have a Maybank classic mastercard, been using since I've started working.

now that my pay is >30k per annum, should I upgrade it to a gold card? What are the benefits of a gold card compared to a classic apart from the limit?
*
hi, my suggestion is look at other cards..for example, the maybank 2 card, to get more benefits smile.gif

In a situation like below:
I have been double charged on several occasions due to terminal problem. What I usually do is, to call up CS to inform that there has been a double charge. The CS will say that the transaction is still floating and will need several days to clear off provided the merchant does not make a settlement.

It never happen but if lets say the merchant made double settlement, in this case, I will file a dispute and since I already inform CS earlier, I guess they have a record of it.

To pay TNB using UOB payonline, I should choose Tenaga Nasional right?

How long it takes for the payment to be cleared?

For UOB PayOnline, where you do get the Bill No for TNB Bill? The new format does not show the bill no at all, but it is a mandatory field at UOB PayOnline.

Public Bank Credit Card is expiring in September this year. I wanted to stop using it after it expires, switching to maybank.

1.) Should i do anything to cancel the card? Wanted to have 1 Maybank CC only.
*
Yes. You need to terminate the old card. Try call up CS and ask for the method.

Bro, reread your quote - it says RM50 for Maybankard 2 Card. Not Cards. Just kidding with you  tongue.gif
Maybank does have the rights to change any clause anytime. However, I think they need to give us Notice like they previously did when they revised the 5X TP to 2X TP for Education, Insurance and Government Agencies. But then again. we were not given Notice when they inflated Treats Points for redeeming stuff.

Anyway, if you got time to waste, click here to my article Maybankard 2 Cards GST Is Now RM100. Mentioned both Human Nature and cybpsych initiatives to inform existing cardholders of the good news  biggrin.gif

Thank you smile.gif

I will actually still keep the card if I have to pay RM100 but I will really grumble alot on paying RM50 for the useless Visa laugh.gif

hye ~

I apply Alliance bank credit card. But during fill up the form I mistakenly tick 2 cards which is Gold card and Younique card. My question is. which one is better?? GOLD card OR YOUNIQUE card? I only need one card. Currently received 2cards.

Thanks in advance.
*
If you want a serious answer, both cards are not good, unless you have a specific reason or receive a very special promo.

there's a certain target to achieve from booth sales, so its easier to get approval unless you really not qualified. think in this way, if a bank pays to rent a booth at a shopping mall and hire salesperson to push their cc, but from those submission they reject most of them just because of small/tiny issues, so does it worth the marketing expenses?
*
I disagree that it is easier to get approval if it is submitted to the booth. At the end of the card, approval is handled by a different department.

yeah, but it arrives in a stack from booth sales not in a single form from the branch.  brows.gif

Still, it does not prove that the approval is easier.
