Guys,
Need advice on which credit card is most beneficial for insurance payment? Specifically Great Eastern insurance. Currently paying with my Maybank Visa which doesnt give any benefits apart from treat points.

How much is your monthly premiums? Is it more than RM1K.

If Yes, get the AEON Watami, which gives 3% CB every quarter subject to min spend of RM3K per Quarter and capped at RM5K

So, just do Auto Debit for your monthly premiums plus TNB, StremyX, etc to enjoy the 3% CB

Also 5% CB for Petrol on Last Sunday of the Month

Hi all,

Yesterday my maybank mastercard(apply with amex) was fraud for online transaction. How come some of those online transactions doesnt need MSOS code to proceed and some need MSOS code to proceed? My cards successfully go through 9 transactions over 30 attempts..

Me myself also curious sometimes I purchase online, doesn't need MSOS as well..

Example I purchase phone in Xiaomi Malaysia website payment through Paypal, I dont need wait for MSOS code to proceed..just key in credit card number, name and the 3 digit code will do..

My concern is, what is the most secure credit card that I can get for online purchase?

The MSOS is up to merchant whether to implement or not. And any credit card also similar in terms of vulnerability, in my opinion. Just set the SMS alert limit low and immediately contact the bank. A bit mafan, but the losses they tanggung not you.

My M2visa just got affected too. Interesting because most of the fraud cases belonged to Amex. May I know the name of the merchants?

Most probably they are merchant based in USA. Their payment gateway still don't support MSOS or similar protocol. Somebody could just enter a valid malaysian card number and expiry date for payment processing ... And a fraud trnx is approved in America!

Then I just continue use Maybank 2 Cards, since the benefits so good..Yeah, I'm waiting my new card, and I'll need to fill in the dispute form when collect my new card at my chosen branch as what the call center told me..

So I just need to fill in all transactions that I received SMS right? or they will print out my statement for me to see which transaction was fraud? hmm.gif

Ya.. very insecure. As long as America do not fully implement VbV/securecode , everybody is vulnerable to fraud , as far as online trnx is concern.

how can it be encrypted when you give your cc details via call? it's up to you whether to trust the person who handles your call.

not considered as a standard way, but it's quite common too. usually it will be safe, don't worry. otherwise, for precaution, you may set sms alert on that cc for all transaction. in this way, you will know immediately (and report to block) if someone use it for unauthorised transactions.

i did apply sms alert for every transaction. but sometime it wouldn't notice me always. I reported to the bank but they said is enable already.

Want to ask, recently I applied for credit card. Got my card already (first time user laugh.gif ). So I went to petronas today to pump petrol using the card. My question is how do I set the fixed amount I want to pump instead of full tank?

I put the card in, verify, take out, put mesra card in & take out then it ask me to start fueling. It never prompt me any option for my desire amount hmm.gif Then the receipt charge me RM13x (but the pump said RM41, so I am guessing they will refund the balance later) rclxub.gif

the fixed amount need to be set at another keypad at the machine (not the same with cc keypad).

are you sure the receipt belongs to you or the person before you?

I see, didnt know that.

Umm not so sure, left the receipt in my car. Why would it be someone else receipt? Shouldn't it be mine since after I fill only it print the receipt? Not so sure, first time paying using the pump, normally I just pay by cash laugh.gif hmm.gif
