May I please have an update on the price ?

What's the price of PSP currently ?

in Sg Wang for value pack version 2.7 it ranges from 750-800, or simply said, should be below 800. if they sell it for more than that range, you're getting ripped smile.gif

value pack = PSP + charger + battery + pouch +headphone + strap + 32mb ms pro duo

Asked few shops yesterday at Sg wang ... about RM800+ modified with original UMD and 32mb ms pro duo
value pack? modified as in can play ahem games? if yes then the price is 'boleh la'. and when you say with original UMD, if you mean including 1 original UMD game then it's cheap!

QUOTE(rhamsaia @ Nov 4 2006, 02:36 PM)
Modified?? Wat kinda modification.. Mod chip ka? Or they just install DevHook or SEB??
Don't think it's modchip, some of the shops are stupid, they don't even know about the TA-082 motherboard. maybe they just install DevHook for you. last time I asked they charge RM40 for that, lol.

Hi ! Wan to ask
PSP v2.71 Value pack + 2GB memory + 1 Demo UMD = RM1150
Cheap or Expensive ?
*
to me it's a bit expensive. well that depends on where you are. here's the price that I got when I bought mine at Sg Wang.

2.71 value pack = 800
2GB memory = 220
Demo UMD = 70

which totals for about 1090. if it's too low for the shop, at least ask for 1110. just in case you didn't know, 2.71SE firmware can play ahem games without UMD inserted. therefore you don't need to put the demo umd. anyway, up to you to decide smile.gif

recon/2nd psp will be agak how much? oni the machine. what do you guys think?
*
most of the shops in Sg Wang sells recon PSPs. some admits that it's recon while some don't. what happened to me was when I went to one of the shops there to buy PSP, I checked the serial number on the PSP with the one on the box, and found that it's not the same. I asked the seller how come it's not the same, he said 'haiya saya jual banyak sangat so tertukar box la semua'. heh, then when I open the battery cover, clearly there's a sticker that states 'REFURBISHED'. I showed the shop owner the sticker and said, 'what's this then?'. then he started to freak out, 'omg ini mesti supplier punya pasal'. heh now he's blaming the supplier. nampak sangat kantoi tipu, huhahaha. then I asked for a new one, non recon one, or else I'll go to other store. then only he went to search for a new one, lol.

anyway recon is not the same as 2nd hand. recon one usually looks super shiny like new, while 2nd hands don't. smile.gif

whatever it is that you want to do with your PSP, make sure you read enough, understand, then only execute it. or else, you'll get yourself a brand new brick smile.gif

psp v2.71 cost around rm700-750 standard pack.
*
where is it? at sg wang 2.71 they sell value pack for 800 only, if negotiate can get lower. I got my value pack at 780 sweat.gif

QUOTE(samurai20 @ Nov 10 2006, 12:32 PM)
Value Pack (1.5 version) + 2gig Memory card = RM999.00

This price ok or not..... biggrin.gif..... i think ok dont know ...kalu kena TIPU... laugh.gif..........
*
to me it's ok, 2GB ms = 200, that means the value pack is about 799. ok kot? 1.5 is usually more expensive than 2.71, I got my 2.71 at 780, so I think it's ok la, not much difference. smile.gif

So how to check if it's a recon set? is there a serial number?
*
well FYI, i accidentally bought a recon set (damn it!)..how to know it's recon? check the serial number if it matches with the one on the box. anyway the serial number is at the bottom of the PSP. there'll be a white sticker stating the serial number and also its region. (I don't think it's at the battery area like jamezco mentioned, well there's a serial number there, but that's not for the PSP I think) . I checked my serial number with the box and guess what? there's no serial number on the box! it's supposed to be on a sticker pasted on the box, but in this case, perhaps the seller already pealed it off, heh.

plus, when I remove the battery from my PSP, there's a sticker stating 'refurbished'. hurmmm 100% confirmed recon then, lol.

however the 2nd method won't work if the seller already remove the 'refurbished' sticker also. so , beware~

hey..wanna ask..i'm plannin to get a giga pack..do you think it's more worth it that way and bout how much is the market price now?thanks
*
not sure, last time I went and ask for a giga pack it's already out of stock. the only difference is giga pack have 1GB memory stick, a small plastic PSP stand, and also a USB cable. you can always get the memory stick separately for a lower price. plus, 1GB is not enough if you plan to play ahem games. please correct me if I'm wrong, thanks smile.gif

guys i want an oppinion
if this a g00d offer

psp 1.5 fw
include 1 gig memory stick

selling at RM950
*
you didn't mention either it's value pack or standard. it's a bit expensive considering you only get 1GB. like MR.Shiney mentioned, 1GB ain't enough assuming you're going to play ahem games as you plan to get 1.5 version. go for 2GB (or 4GB tongue.gif)!

list down the price for each item individually, then only we can judge (hopefully). smile.gif

i think i would choose the 2.7 firmware because it is not as troublesome as the 2.0 one ( demo disc thingy ) and also because the dealer who sells the 2.7 seems honest and knows more things bout the psp if compared to the other one which (i think) tried to con me .
cause at first i asked his worker wats the price he told me it is RM 930 but then the boss came and say 980 then need to plus the rm 50 demo disc
ohh yeah i left out 1 thing both option i mentioned has a 2gb memory stick
*
if you're lazy to download or learn about the 'ahem' stuff. get the 1st choice.
if you like challenges, and would like to explore the PSP world so that you'll actually understand each stuff 'deeper', get the 2nd choice.

anyway most ahem dvd sold right now are old games, if you want the latest game, you can download it for free~ lalala

the 1st choice can play *ahem* games
and he said games can be downloaded into it ....
or mayb i misunderstood u
if possible pm me to explain pls cause i have some problem understanding the unmentionable's
*
well to make things simpler (assuming option 1 is 2.71SE as it's able to play ahem games + not TA-082 motherboard), PSP option 2 can do everything that PSP option 1 can do. just that option 1 is already 'upgraded' for you, less hassle for you to set it up, can just play ahem games straight away. while option 2, you'll have to 'upgrade' it to the another firmware yourself in order to have option 1's abilities.

lazy = get option 1 (hehe no offence, every 1st time buyer is afraid when they hear about bricking and stuff)
wanna learn something new = option 2

Dear friends, I have just came back from Sg Wang today and have found one shop claiming they are selling RM850 for PSP with original firmware is v1.5. They claim that the their PSP is under Sony warranty and we can claim from Sony directly. They make a statement that it carries 1 year international warranty which I doubt!
*
I think if it has Sony warranty then it should have a Sony 'card' stating the warranty for the PSP. otherwise, it doesn't. but not so sure about it though, as I didn't buy my PSP from Sony Style~ tongue.gif

y the question always keep repeat, repeat,n repeat again?
go do some research for ur self la doh.gif
*
lol, yea that's the problem. got tired of answering the same question all over again, so just leave it to others.

guys, we really should make a FAQ for those who wants to buy PSP + other basic things and sticky it in the subforum. saves a lot of time, not to mention bandwidth too. just a matter of whose going to make the FAQ and constantly maintain it. whistling.gif
