n00b-ish question regarding downgrading: does it matter which region's firmware you use? For example, if you have a Japanese PSP with firmware updates from Sony Japan and you use the downgrader (which I believer is based on US or EU firmware), is the risk of bricking higher?

yes, that cheap.. before this im searching for fw2.6 i tot it can b downgraded..

there's a possibility the ta-082 can be downgraded. Someone managed to downgrade a 2.5fw ta-082 to 1.5fw.

i know.. but it's too risky n complex.. rather spend few $$$ for the real deal..

it's not big news because for every downgrade the user has to personally send a dump of his/her own unique firmware to ookm for him to personally create a custom softdown file just for his/her psp.

is there such a thing as underwater or original PSP? (apart from buying from Sony)

can someone tell me where i can look for the serial number on the console to match the box? what about charger & battery etc?...

some shop selling me FW1.5 for RM750, and if i buy 2GB Sony mstick, she offer everything for RM1000.

I assume the mstick, charger and battery is fake, but i need to know for the console.

there is no underwater PSP. all gameshop including me~ are also known as grey market or parellel import.

parellel import or you purchase your psp from any grey market will not have the official warranty. (taht because thier warranty is other country)

if you have the cash and er. . (not hunting version 1.50) then purchase from Sony Malaysia. (they have 1 year warranty on manufacture defects. As on Dead/Stuck Pixel on Arrival I guess you can exchange when you purchase it at the moment you open it up)

Cause I heard sony said there is a minimum dead/stuck pixel warranty then only can be "Exchange" (not sure its the whole psp or just the screen)

guys... if i buy a FW1.5 and use Devhook to emulate 2.71, do i still need to check if it's non TA-082? or i'm good to go?

actually djinn is a good guy, i wanna buy from him, but he no stock. If he order for me, then when i collect the psp that time, if anything wrong with the lcd screen also can't change, cos he only got 1 unit. Not good for both of us lah..

The no dead pixel warranty I can't give you cause now I don't have a shop. Once my shop is been done , then only I can give you these warranty.

Djinn, are u going to sell lots of UMD games ? Coz i went to sg wang yesterday most shops sell only a few umd games. They are more towards pirated (or should i say downloaded ?)
