if he buys 2.71 non 082 mobo also got risk in downgrading it what. everything that flashes will sure have the risk of bricking. so why not save money and try 082? but i think, the possiblity of bricking when downgrading is a little bit higher with 082 mobos compared to non 082 machines from the comments. lol.

Or even better, pay 50 bucks more and get the shopowner/whoever you're buying from to do the custom fw downdating/updating before buying a psp?

Then again, firmware updates come quite often, so it's still the same nyoron~

Ya, be careful and follow all instructions when downgrading. I downgraded 2 PSPs 2.71 TA-082 or 086 (not sure, didn't open to confirm). 1 bricked but 1 success. The bricked one which I just bought a few days ago. The seller refused to downgrade for me cry.gif Now I know why.

For older PSPs, non TA-082/086. I've downgraded about 10, so far no probs. My personal PSP, the old one, I've flashed between 1.5, 2,71SE & 3.02SE many times. Now currently running 3.03OE-A.

Still trying to think of where it went wrong. Good luck to all downgraders.

I guess the best way to know is by open the casing and look at the PCB by ourself. However, most of factory released FW3.xx above will have a TA-086. So, that the best thing you could know. However, all the Box Code M and above will be TA-086, probably

Boxcode M and above :

Look, at the pcb:
