You can only contribute that by fighting in alliance battle event.

if not mistaken previous event not many people know it...only me and a few others whack alliance battle nia lolz.

as for your question, what your doing now is the slow and 'budget' way of leveling a slime

from battle, you level up slime to 27 and use it for Upgrading your preferred card

another way is to user summoned N card and upgrade slime to lvl 27 and then Upgrade your preferred card. This method will cause u alot of friendship points
if you 'rajin' go greet and visit comrade then you can earn alot friendship points
