long time no come back to pokemon thread (since Gen IV). are you guys having fun with X/Y?

I kinda want to wait until Z is released first only get a 3DS since the platform still does not have many games I'm interested. I kinda missed the whole Gen V due to the unexpected release of v2 instead of grey lol... But I heard this time it is based on axis so more chance perhaps? whistling.gif

Oh, for the breeding debate above, although my argument might be invalid since it was based on my past breeding exp in HGSS and I'm not sure what update/changes was made since then.

Assuming you don't have to pin point what stats need to be maxed, getting 4 max IV is not that hard. Of course the quality of parents do play heavy factor in the inheriting, but if both parent have at least 3 max IV it not hard to get one with 4IV. Then if you keep replacing the parent with more maxed IV with the current one to keep the chances of getting better child up.

I remember there is also certain items (was it EV items?) that helps to ensure inheriting 1 stat from a parent. So that too can help in early stages of breeding process. The breeding game only gets hard when you try to get closer to a flawless breed or pinpoint 5 specific stat.

That destiny knot item that was mentioned sounds like it will make breeding much easier tho. perhaps it is about time for meto brush up pokemon knowledge...? hmm.gif 2 gen worth of moveset/item info sounds scary xD

since some ppl already started to get into IV topic, I assume some of you are already into more hardcore gameplay like wifi battles?

is there any big changes that might affect competitive battles strategy during this gen? only know mega-evolution and fairy type because they are pretty obvious... what about ability or items?

hey come on, i would be extremely silly if i used the same stats noe  doh.gif

the thing is here its "the odds". dats why im gettin my 4iv in my 32 eggs coz it doesnt happen in my previous 31 eggs smile.gif

actually when breeding it doesn't matter if both parent have same stats but it sure helps to have at least one diff maxed IV so more stats could be rolled when using the power item to lock a stat so that only 2 more stat that needs to be successfully rolled. Still, if both are 3IV parents, around 30 eggs for a 4IV is still normal I think.

later when pokebank open i want try mega kangaskhan with mudslap lol. double accuracy reduction  brows.gif what's your old team? idk how to battle leh

pokebank only 5usd per year. no trial also i pay

mudslap quite low dmg even in exchange for double accuracy reduction. might as well use bulldoze or just bam with earthquake (somehow Showdown cant double earthquake, not sure bug onot). but i think i need need old kangaskhan in the future since i heard now not yet got move tutor to teach elemental punch (need fire.p)

my old team in Gen 4 is azelf, bronzong, drifblim, heatran, hitmontop, flygon.

now replace flygon with mega-khan since it got more potential for now. wanted to replace heatran for other special attacker but dunno Gen 5/6 got what good ones. only gengar & gardevoir comes to mind now. gengar is still good even without megavolve but gardevoir is more preffered to be mega-ed but i heard 1 team cant have 2 megas... there is also the thing about type coverage because the coverage is pretty small now and the candidate i can think of will reduce more in exchange for raw power. Heatran is still pretty good fire tanker though since it can absorb and power up.

my current team pretty much runs on set ups and a little surprise move here and there from todays experience it is pretty weak to staller/tanks especially substitute users. but ignoring those teams i can get quite good winning rate xD
