Grid Wars 2 is a Geometry Wars clone. Don't own 360? Bored with Mono?

Then download this! NOW! (scroll down a little)

Now this is a little different. This is a shoot em' up(SHMUP) title, but you only battle bosses. But each boss you defeat, they'll grow stronger depending on how you play.

For example, if you were to sit still and just move around a little, the next boss will then be upgraded to have homing missles next. Another example would be, if you're weak to a certain weapon, the boss will then make good use of it and you'll see more in the coming rounds.

Cave Story.

Honestly, I regret not downloading this a year ago. I know, it looks shitty, but it plays ****en good! The creator of this game, did a one man show over 5 years to bring you this masterpiece.

This game has a Metroid & Castlevania style. Heavily inspired of course. You'll be exploring, earning experience points from killing your foes, leveling up your weapons, and picking up Max HP capacitors just like Metroid games.

Storyline is very good, has 3 different endings similar to what Castlevania does. I got the bad ending the first time, damn sakit hati.

What you waiting for?

Dink Smallwood is a humorous zelda-like isometric adventure/RPG produced and published by Robinson Technologies in 1997.

One of the unique features of Dink is its abilities to run Dink Modules (DMOD's) for unlimited adventure. Dink Edit is included with the game so you can make your own.

blush.gif .. thanks.

BTW, I SECOND Dink Smallwood, because it's a fantastic game.

I hit(as in attack) the save point, and he says, "Die you mechanical thing that does not belong here!"

QUOTE
In futuristic England, there are giant cities owned solely by corporations, separated by a giant wasteland known as The Gap. When Robert Foster's Gap-dwelling tribe is killed by soldiers from Union City who capture him, everything changes for him. After a narrow escape from the helicopter bringing him there as it inexplicably crashes, Robert and his droid Joey must search the decaying city, attempting to befriend both the snobby rich and the frustrated poor as the two attempt to get out of the city, but in the middle of everything they uncover the dark truth about LINC, the bizarre computer which makes the city tick.

no freeware list is complete without this game! with havok engine! laugh.gif
QUOTE
N has been described as reminiscent of lode runner -- you're a little dude running around in a puzzle-y world inhabited by enemies.

But in N, there's a twist: the ninja is driven not only by a thirst for gold, but also by a physics simulation.

Death, which happens often, is quite animated.

The Ur-Quan Masters (a.k.a Star Control 2)

user posted image
QUOTE(Wiki: Star Control 2)
Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters (officially "II", often written as "2") was written by Toys for Bob (Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III) and originally published by Accolade in 1992 for PC; it was later ported to the Macintosh, and the 3DO with an enhanced multimedia presentation, allowed by the CD technology.

SC2 is generally regarded as the best of the trilogy and the reason for the series' devoted fanbase. It added a large number of species and ship types to the already diverse cast and replaced the first game's strategy-based scenarios with a story-driven space exploration adventure game that included diplomacy with the inhabitants of the galaxy, some resource-gathering sub-sections, and instances of the mle combat of the first game whenever diplomacy failed...

IGN named Star Control II the 17th best game of all time, and Gamespot named it one of the greatest games of all time
This is one of those games that was an absolute must-have during the 90's. It had an excellent storyline which doesn't hold your hand, memorable alien characters/species, very well-written dialogue, superb soundtracks, fun combat - that can also be played by 2-players in "Super Melee" mode.

Deep-space exploration is huge, you'll have hours of fun navigating through the stars.

The original soundtrack is GREAT.

But the remixed soundtrack is even BETTER, made by the guys over at Precursors. Download packs can be found over at Ur-Quan Masters download page, and also at Precursors. I recommend adding them on(add-on) to the game!

Hey peeps! Don't be a graphic-wh0re!

Try Ur-Quan, it's amazing, storyline doesn't hold your hand(I can't stress this any more). Which you can't find these days. Gameplay too, it's fun, and engaging.

You won't find this kinda gameplay nowadays..

But the creators(Toys for Bob) of Star Control 2(which is Ur-Quan) is trying to convince Activision to make a NEW Star Control.

I hope it works out, but I hope it won't be taxing on my comp smile.gif

If it plays the same, an absolute must get, please TRY! It'll be a little confusing at start, but that's the whole point! It doesn't hold you hand!!

*hint* Explore each star one by one and don't rush. Upgrade your flagship and try not to bump into enemies that are way to strong for you.

[Edit] For those who played it, please comment, it's just great.

I love Grid Wars and Warning Forever is great too.

Here are some I like:

Tumiki Fighters

Nice little shmup. When you destroy a ship, you can catch them and they act as a shield. Nice!

Every Extend
download

user posted image

Basically you have a bomb and you time your explosions for maximum chain reactions! Reminds me a little of Bangai-O (anyone play that on the Dreamcast?)
This is actually being remade as Every Extend Extra on the PSP by Q Entertainment (Lumines) with sexy eye candy and pumping electronica. I'm really looking forward to this!

I like EveryExtend, it's the music that enhances it.

Too bad I can't play it(properly), my 3d card is a little busted. No 3d-accelerated graphics for me sad.gif

Wonder why they charging Sony fans. PC gets free, DS gets homebrewed tongue.gif

QUOTE
This is one of the best freeware adventures you will ever play bar none. Anyone that loved LucasArts' classic adventure games such as Maniac Mansion, Sam'n'Max Hit the Road and Day of the Tentacle will fall in love with this game. Why? Because this game recreates the spirit, style and humor that made all of the above mentioned games so enjoyable. This has been hailed by many to be a commercial quality game and has few, if any bad points.

The graphics really do have that classic 2d adventure game look to them, with bright colors and cartoonishly drawn visuals. The main character is hilarious (a geeky little kid who wants nothing more then to play Dungeons and Dragons) and gets you hooked straight away. The sound is decent in an old school kind of way. Probably the only thing the game COULD have had to improve it would have been actual voice acting, rather than type text when the characters talk - but admittedly this is a high expectation of a freeware game and is not a valid criticism.

The game play is challenging and the control system is like any other LucasArts' game - use the mouse to walk around and click on the various word actions to interact with your environment.

Abandonware is not freeware. Abandonware is where the publisher has given up the rights of software or it is impossible to buy the game anymore because it is not available commercially. Something like that.

I remember playing that game many eons ago on a very slow PC...lol.
