I m also Note 1 user. U cannot compare Note 3 with Note 1 because Note 1 is using 2500mah battery and Note 3 is 3200mah.
I got 5 batteries for my Note 1. Enough for my daily use.
For Note 3 i got 2 batteries only. More than enough.

Normal use 3 batteries a day. For heavy use i need 5 .
3 hours i can finish 1 battery for Galaxy Note 1.
For Note 3, 1 battery can last bout 10-15 hours for my daily use. Normal use can last for 1 day+.

Gaming+data+GPS+chating+sufing drink a lot of juice on Note 1. Luckily Note 3 much much better than Note 1.

My previous phone feels so small now.

Just now I was telling my sister, "Yeah, Note 3 can root already." She said, "You still dare to root ah, forgot what happened to your Note II?"

Her Note II was also rooted by me on the first day she bought it and straight installed custom ROM.

Is it worth upgrading from note 2 to note3?

Guys, just a word of caution. My note 3 somehow manage to have water seep through into it (was using one of those bumper case). Most likely it was caused by the wet hands of my friends at the beach - taking photos etc. Only realise this after feedback from the service center. It could be turned on but the screen is not, only sound. The worst part is that the bill came to RM1,679.50. Should have just bought a new one.

It is still with me, doing its job faithfully.
I'm using it for my corporate line now, just for calls, SMS and occasionally WhatsApp with my colleagues.
Also when my Note 3 is charging or running out of battery.

s-view function is not working right?

Picture does not always tell the truth. You just need go to ebay and see many of such "S View" flip cases really cheap at US$5 -US$10 and most will show the same pic ( a sticker anyway) . Some of the sellers are honest enough to say the standard S View features will not work . Anyway his back case does not have any of the 2 connectors , so I don't think you will have S View functionality
The seller should test himself and tell the potential buyer about this issue first or buyers will be misled
