QUOTE(dog999 @ Oct 15 2013, 04:25 PM) Pendrive up to 64gb no problem since Note 1 daysUSB harddrive in FAT32 formatted eg my WD, Philip 500g n 1TB Samsung is ok since Note2 days. Not all USB harddrives supported as they draw power differently. High above 250gb drives in other format eg NTFS is probably undetectable. Some hard drives need additional power input. No correct answer n you just got to test yourself QUALITY of the usb otg cable affects too as only 1 out of my 3 cables can connect with the 1TB drive. QUOTE(waveweaver @ Oct 15 2013, 07:37 PM) I believe flashing vis Odin is quite save as it doesn't flash bootloader...right..? If this is so, I will never get to have OTA updates since my Knox is flaggedOnly those who use OTA or Kies will received the said new locked bootloader. Have to rely only on Odin to flash any new firmware updates |

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 15 2013, 07:22 PM) You just need to hold down the power button for say at least 10 secs or slightly more and phone will rebootI have done this I estimate at least 5-6 times experimenting and flashing with the phone It work similarly in ALL Samsung S an Note series phones |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 15 2013, 07:48 PM) Regarding the Root de la Vega. I flash this Vega BMJ1 ( same as you guys ) version on top of Msian official BMJ1 and than later flash back M'sian official BMJ1 and than tested prerooted BMJ3 and finally flash UK official BMJ3 - all perfect and no issuesIt seems we 1st using Odin to flash the edited ROM, then we just continue flashing necessaries files for root. The question is Can we flash different edition firmware?. Ours now still N9005XXUBMJ1, can we just flash others version like N9005XXUBMJ3 ? But mine is already Knox flagged No harm trying Worse scenario - you reflash back the Vega BMJ1 version This post has been edited by benny888: Oct 15 2013, 07:54 PM |

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Oct 15 2013, 07:52 PM) I hope not or else I will definitely sell of the Note 3 as it's becoming another lockdown like the fruitcake . I flash his patch rooted version BMJ3 last night and no issues at all. He later updated the rom and rename it Vega ( but not yet uploaded ). He is talking about another user who updated it OTAFrom the developer DjeMBeY in XDA . He posted about it in post #352 in his ROM]><N9005 XXUBMJ3 JB 4.3><VEGA 0x0<>Pre-Rooted STOCK ROM's><Odex/DeOdex><Odin/CWM> thread |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 15 2013, 08:02 PM) You flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2461929 ? It seems CWM can prevent the KNOX? From his post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...105&postcount=3 mention KNOX free. Yes I flash his so called PATCH prerooted rom ( BMJ3) from that site BUT he had since this morning taken it off and replaced it with VEGA rom ( not yet uploaded) I didn't test flashing it with CWM as my phone already Knox flagged and so no point trying it I tested the Vega BMJ1 rom ( same as you guys are using) but it doesn't remove the Knox flag of 0X1 |

QUOTE(tunasandwich @ Oct 15 2013, 07:38 PM) I bought this Brando power jacket last week and it was air out on 8 Oct and should be in my hands by end of this week. It cost me US$37 inclusive deliveryhttp://shop.brando.com/Power-Jacket-For-Sa...9c1616d003.html Two weeks before that, I ordered a similar one for my Xperia Z Ultra ( 4500 mAh). I am very happy with it . I have posted my comments on it in post # 707 in the Xperia Z ULtra thread. If it performs as well as the XZU unit, it is a very good buy |

QUOTE(seanlee89 @ Oct 16 2013, 05:53 PM) Hi Guys, Where you read such stuffs ??Sorry but I've been reading the posts over and over but there's 2 things I'm still not clear about: 1. Some sites ask to use titanium backup before rooting but how do we TB before rooting as it requires root isn't it? 2. Is it necessary to install CWM? Thanks! Titanium can only work with rooted phone CWM is optional - necessary if you want to do a nandroid backup, and flash stuffs eg roms, kernel, modem, or some mods that only can be effected by flashing through recovery mod. Install CWM will flag your Knox warranty to 0X1 |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 16 2013, 06:04 PM) Probably, and sad case of SamMobile is, all the ROM is uploaded at Hotfile, which not that fast for normal not paid user. Seriously don't see any significant difference or performance in BMJ3. I just update it because is the latest.I am downloading now, not sure wanna update yet or not. benny888 Remember you had already flash to UK N9005XXUBMJ3 firmware, any differences you seen compare with local N9005XXUBMJ1 firmware? |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 16 2013, 08:29 PM) Ya! That shit KNOX! I already post at there as well. Haizz............... OK la, future no need use that troublesome root anymore. Will use CF-Root instead since my KNOX already get trigger! One consolation : you need not worry about flashing other region firmware - just one download will do and use CF Root to root it. Also now you can happily install CWM if you wish ! |

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Oct 16 2013, 08:48 PM) One thing, no need use Wanam to fake the System Status from Custom to Official as it will automatic return to Official once you install the original firmware via PC Odin. Actually using that Wanam trick is useless . If you want to claim warranty you must flash back official firmware and system will be back to official already |

Guys - once you want to root, be always be mentally prepared warranty is void. No matter how the developers do it to overcome this said Knox stuff or flash counter stuffs , we will not know when it will fail. Everyone is just experimenting
Nothing to be sad about it if you are ready for the Knox to be flagged out. If you are not prepared for such eventuality DON"T bother to root irrespective how safe the situation is now This issue of warranty never occur to me as I always root my phones and I must say I am VERY LUCKY as my past 9 cases ( over past 6 years) claiming warranty on rooted phones has always being FREE. 6 times Samsung, 2 times HTC, 1 time Asus. Only my friend HTC1 which I assist him to sent in, have to pay RM700 to change motherboard as he hardbrick it when doing a RUU reinstall. But than he was prepared to pay for it knowing how strict HTC is on unlocking bootloaders |
