I have both as well. Sold off 2012 though.

N7 2012, for me has no hardware issue.

N7 2013 has the touchscreen issue and the hissing sound when at low volume. Still loving my n7 2013. Touchscreen can be fixed with mod @ xda.

and pandailako yes, n7 2013 can use instagram

Nexus 7 (2012/2013) is international warranty. If want claim need to go Asus center.

Any video calling app which do not need to use phone number (eg: skype), is supported.
If you want use app that uses phone number (eg: whatsapp), you need manually download the apk and install it.

Sure there can get replacement? I sometimes go pertama have lunch, and I rarely see shops selling anything related to nexus devices, much less repair shop. Well, you can try to check, no harm (just time). You can try buy the screen online (ebay, etc) as well.

My N7 (bought the first batch from play store) has touch screen issue (multi-touch) so I use the solution here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428133

This fixes mine.

Seems like your usb port is loose. Don't have this issue but you should continue calling Asus hotline. Or just go to the service center @ lowyat top floor. Or if you know how to fix it yourself.

1) You can download the Whatsapp.apk from here. To install, make sure you have tick "unknown sources" accessible at Settings > Security.

2) It's pretty rare to find Nexus device casing, I would recommend to buy online or buy from sellers here.

I'm running fine on 4.4.2. Is it recent problem? Like after you update to 4.4.2 then this problem arise? or you flashed/did something?

Is it still under warranty? If yes, I suggest go Asus center and ask them to see. Before that you can call their hotline and ask them too.

Not sure my standby time but there was this 1 time I charge full (100%) then just leave it (everything off, wifi,location,etc), after 5 days only dropped +-~30% (left ~70%).

Jailbreak (iOS) is similar to Root (Android). Both of this allows you to gain superuser access.
If you're root-ed, best to flash custom kernel(s) as it's more optimized, gives better battery life (also depends on your usage) and some features like swipe, double tap, fast charge, etc.

Seems like case of usb loose. If you can fix it yourself then go ahead. If you give to Asus, no idea how long they will take to fix.

Google see which IP address you're currently viewing from. If you want to view US items, you need be on US IP

You actually don't need those app. The RAM management in Android is good enough.
If you feel lag/ or lag during opening app slow, then your RAM usage is high.
So far, I have not encounter any lag. Granted, I'm on custom rom and kernel.

Battery life really depends on your usage and how you judge that. I mostly use my tab for reading and watching videos. Gaming occasionally. I like Carbon features and battery been good on elementalx.

What? You mean like put your phone number into the whatsapp in your N7?
No.
Whatsapp only support 1 number per device. If you register your number to N7, your phone whatsapp will not work.
