Guys, i have a very strange defect..pinching and zooming in earth and maps doesn't produce any funny multi touch issues..only occasionally i can see that my touch is still registered on the screen even though i've lifted my finger, cuz i enabled the "show touches" option on the developer option. But that's still fine, i just touch somewhere else, and its gone, minor annoyance. I've also faced random problems obvious especially during tracing with swiftkey or google keyboard, it can't do it successfully cuz it seems like some parts on the screen can't register? Again, found out through the "show touches option". But that's rare enough, happened only twice in my single month of using.

Today, something weird happened. I decided to test my gps and mounted it on my car dashboard. Nothing wrong with the gps..but the screen was extremely not responsive..found out after reaching destination and was just swiping the screen around. When i took it off the dashboard and use it in my hands, become ok back rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif seriously, dafuq.

Each time i try to find a fault, there's none. Then it just suddenly happens. Pinching and zooming on eath and map never had any problem. And no, i don't want to try any of those multi touch test apps haha...each time i tried on my previous nexus, sure got problem doh.gif phobia already..

In terms of spec, then yea, its not high end. In terms of user experience though, it's one of the best. Minus touch screen issue.

yeap, i'm using screen protector. Could it possibly be the problem? I have thought of the whole "placing table is worse compared to in hands" factor cuz it was present in N7 2012, and deliberately placed it on my table, then perform pinch zooming on earth/map. No problems whatsoever. Just that single dashboard moment in my car..

Other factors i can think of is probably not connected to wifi..or gps caused it be hot, that leads to some screen thingy going haywire. But doesn't explain the fact that it's fine when i unmounted it..

or its a safety feature where gps will render the screen irresponsive to touch so you wont disturb the map? tongue.gif

Guys, came across another problem, thought I'll share it again.

Earlier today i wanted a photosphere, but it just wouldn't work. I couldn't align to a dot, it moves away together with my hand movement. Hard to describe it properly, but the point is, I couldn't use it effectively. I thought it was a photosphere problem, but since I don't exactly use it much, so whatever.

Then later I tried some gaming, played Giant Boulder of Death (funny game, recommended if you played Katamari before thumbup.gif ). But when I tilt my nexus, the boulder wouldn't move where I tilt, it just went straight. That's when I realize it wasn't photosphere's problem, but my gyroscope. So I tried Into the Dead, but surprisingly, that works. My screen rotation is flawless too.

So I installed Androsensor, and sure enough, it couldn't detect my gyroscope. Maybe screen rotation and Into the Dead uses accelerometer or something..

When I checked online, people say its due to an update to 4.3. Anyway, I just restarted my tablet, and its fine now..not sure for how long though. Will check time and again, so those who fear it might happen to you too, please do check. Funny thing is, I have successfully taken a photosphere some time ago before, and playing GBOD was no problem like 2 days ago. So it just recently happened, it wasn't like this since day 1 i got it or something. hmm.gif

Just got my OTA this morning, and while it doesn't solve my gyroscope problem, at least not yet, it at least solves the auto wake problem (the one where the smart cover doesn't always wake the device with wifi off). Also, it solves the nexus media importer problem too, where previously a thumbdrive can't be detected unless you change the language setting to US and restart it.

Overall does feel a tad bit smoother smile.gif

I'm facing another issue with my unit. After waking the screen (either by power button or smart wake), the screen won't register my touch, so I can't unlock the tablet or anything at all. Not like the tablet is lagging, my live wallpaper is working fine, and hardware buttons are working fine, just the screen can't register my touches. Gotta sleep and wake it like up to 5 times and it'll suddenly work back.

Faced this problem since 4.3 but quite rare. After 4.4 update, that fixed a lot of my problems (sticky touch, auto wake with no wifi), but this one become more serious...happened like 5 times today. Seems more frequent when battery is low hmm.gif

Just wondering anyone tried PPSSPP on Nexus 7 ? its very lagging LOL

I tried, and i think its pretty good. Heavily depends on what game you play. MGS games or monster hunter so far works fine, whereas some can't play at all.

Soul Calibur? I'm interested with this game since a long long time ago. I can only manage 20fps on my nexus7....so lag...

Sorry, didn't try that tongue.gif if you're really interested, why not just get ppsspp on windows and see if it runs smoothly there?

Guys, more problem with my tablet..been having trouble charging it till 100%. Most of the time, highest it can go is 80%, usually 60-70% before the charging rate becomes less than 50A/hour, making discharging higher than charging when i'm using it at the same time. Happens with all my chargers cry.gif

Now, latest problem is, its even difficult to charge. Keeps disconnecting halfway..thinking its the port problem. Now buying a wireless charger and see how that fares. Should probably send to the service center.. but I know asus service center sucks, hate to leave it with them for weeks with no update doh.gif

My Nexus 7 2013 having really bad problems now.

a) It won't charge even with the original USB cable & wall adapter. I have to turn off the tablet while the charger is connected, only then it will charge (shows the battery charging icon). I have tried other cables/adapter still no luck.
b) When connect to PC or Mac, the Nexus 7 is not recognized so I can't transfer files.
c) Charging real slow and then battery is discharging faster than normal. On standby can last only 2 days, before this standy can go for 3-4 days.

Running Android 4.4.2

Anyone else having the same problem? Not sure if this is a hardware issue or software/firmware problem.
*
Mine is kinda same as yours though i think worse. At least yours confirm will charge well if you turn it off. Mine charges super slow till the discharge rate is almost always higher than charging rate, except if i don't touch at all..then maybe can charge like...10-15% overnight. Even shutting it down doesn't help. Once I even had trouble connecting the charger, it kept disconnecting then reconnecting constantly. My pc usb does recognize it though, only 1 port has problems.

Besides all this, my gyroscope isn't working, and my screen quite often gets unresponsive, I actually have to physically hit it to get the screen to register my touch.

Waiting for my wireless charger to see if it makes any difference, but even if it does, I'll probably still send it for warranty..

Yes even in app. I tried running the compass app.... It doesn't detect anything. Downloaded phone tester from play store to test the sensors no respond... Think its faulty. Not sure if factory reset will resolve the issue
*
Mine was like this too. After rebooting, it works awhile then doesn't work again. Fine now after replacing the motherboard..but that's cuz I had plenty of other problems too.

guys, have anyone tried rooting with towelroot? sorry, pretty new to the rooting business..I basically just want to play with some xposed modules, and I have several questions...i think this root method doesn't unlock bootloader, but I can still use xposed right? Next question is..since i'm still on stock rom, OTA isn't affected right?

Can & you need to disable Xposed Framework first in the app before applying OTA.
*
Thanks bro biggrin.gif Means only xposed will effect OTA, root won't?

Another important point you must ensure any system app you have disabled must be restored back

Guys, I got the OTA update for lollipop since the 18th of this month, and waited awhile to get some feedback before updating. Now I have decided to update, but the update seems to have disappeared? Even after I keep pressing the update check button, it just says my device is up to date. I cleared the cache for the Google service framework, but nothing changed.

Btw, my device was rooted, everything stock with xposed installed when i got the OTA. Just uninstalled it to update just now, but now can't get the OTA back. Anyone experienced this? hmm.gif
