Just got my card approved.

Just wanted to know if retail purchases is equal to 'general' purchases?
Or is there any specific set of MCC for retail categories?

As long as not petrol or insurance payment, then you will get rebate.

Thanks.

I will reply here instead.

Let me give you a clear picture:

To maximize cashback of so-called 5%, you would need to fulfill RM1500 of retail spending to get RM50 per month. SCB suggested that you can spend RM1000 on retail transactions, and RM500 on petrol and insurance. This way, you spent RM1500 for all types of transactions and got RM50 back, so indirectly you also get 3.33% cashback for insurance too.

I see.
Thanks for clarification.
But i better play the safe way of excluding insurance payment and opt for other options.
Might try VOX CC and pay at aia website just to test it.

Thanks alot.

There are many ways/CCs to earn CB for petrol & insurance, if u can't meet rm1500, 500 or 833 will also earn u 2 or 3 % CB. I will only use this card if I can't get CB from all other cards.
*
Ya.
If meeting 500 and minus the insurance it will give me approximately 1.xx% CB.
Therefore i prefer to stay with watami, and use Posonline to get estimated 2.xx% CB
hope the posonline concern will be resolved soon.

The email contains the redemption code to claim for the free gift. They will send a PIN to your mobile number to type into claim page. After that, they will email the courier tracking number.
For your case, better u call RP / SCB to check your gift.

Thanks for the info.
My first swipe for my new SCB is 12 Jun.
I shall wait for at least two weeks and check my spam mails.

And i have yet to receive any email from RP on the smart tag.
My first swipe is 12th June.

I am one of them, swipe at 23 May.

email RP and RP say
when i asked them what is their approval list period and they reply :
then i give them my first swipe date was 23 May, and they replied me back with the same message:
that is not consistent, so some will get earlier some get late if you're not lucky.  sad.gif
i wonder if it also depending on the Agent who handle the application or not.

I emailed RP, and straight they asked for my delivery address.
And i gave them the address and RP replied it will be sent within 21 working days.

I haven't thought about the promotion yet but just wanna see if it will really suit my usage. hmm.gif
Thanks for sharing though.
I'll just apply online if I really want to.

Apply through RP.
FAster response and the fee gifts followed by the customer rep from RP is very efficient as well for my application.

I think my first card with them 3 years ago was via online.
Alright but I checked RP site, no free gift for SCB Gold cash back. Other cards yes.
Too little cash back after deducting 2.12%. sweat.gif

Oww..too bad then.
Normally free gift will be delivered within three months from the date of campaign end with minimum swipes and etc conditions, but i after i met all those conditions, i emailed back the RP rep and she said within 2 weeks i will receive it.
Then got a PosLaju parcel arrived within a week which contained Tng preloaded RM50 + Slim SmartTag + 9V battery.

Sometimes i use this card to pay POSONLINE partially to meet the CB condition of min RM500. Ya i know i will lose 0.12% in the end but better than ZERO.
