For the Cashback Gold MasterCard, minimum retail spending for cashback = RM1500; to maximize cashback, minimum spending exclude petrol and insurance = RM1000..Means to get the RM50 cashback you need to spend the remaining RM500 which will earn you 0% cashback? What a joke shakehead.gif

imo, if ur monthly spending can be divided into other categories for eg, petrol/dining/groceries, maybe there are other card better for these categories.
for me, this card is only useful for other purchases, such as online payment/parking/etc..
*
Can use credit card to pay for parking? Or you mean reload TnGo using CC and pay with it? brows.gif

Anyone got their rebate for June 2015? According to SC website, the cashback will not be credited automatically but need to redeem free cash and gifts from 28 June 2015 onwards?

I think monthly installment is not entitle for the cash back.

I just got my cash back for RM25 only.
The total spending for Jan'16 is RM16xx, if excluding RM2xx for instalment, it is just RM13xx, which mean, I could not get the full RM50 cash back.

Sigh.

Not sure on SC Card, but other cards are entitled for cash back like UOB, CIMB

I tot all banks of credit card should be entitled ?  hmm.gif
*
Correct me if I am wrong, but banks will not give rebate for subsequent months' installment, it will be given on-shot when you do the installment. Lets say you swipe RM1000 in Feb and do installment, that RM1000 will be given rebate for Feb and no rebate afterwards as it is not a retail spending anymore. Most cash back cards, if not all, have this T&C. If not you will get double rebate tongue.gif

Is it because you rarely utilize the full credit limit and they have reduced it to your usual monthly spending amount?

Hey guys. do I get 5% (effective 3.33%) cash back if i pay RM1500 to ptptn using the cashback gold mastercard? is governmental agencies included in the "retail purchases"?
*
QUOTE(aromachong @ Apr 11 2016, 09:13 AM)
only for retail transactions.

you can make 1000 (retail transactions) and 500(gov/non-retail transactions) to get Rm50 cb
*
CashBack is calculated based on all transactions except insurance and transactions made at petrol station/kiosk.
So you will get rebate for PTPTN transaction.

the trick is swipe 1000 for retail transactions and 500 for non retail transactions to activate 50 cb

but i saw my friend pay ptptn with her cc, no cb for the retail transactions for swiping 1000+ amount. i'd assume ptptn is non retail transactions.
*
Whether it is retail or not, you can swipe RM500 for PTPTN and the rest swipe for retail. To me, I will add in insurance but not petrol because got other better cards for petrol. Cant wait to get the card in this few weeks to replace Watami.

That is what i suggest from my previous post.

That is for others to try out for unconfirmed transactions like PTPTN. Since I dont have PTPTN, I will probably spend all on retail and a little on insurance.

Received this SMS from 62003:

RM0.00 Your Temporary Password for Standard Chartered Online Banking is XXXXX and is valid until 17 Apr 2016. Do not share your password with anyone and if you have not performed this transaction, please contact the bank.

I did not apply for any temporary password and I just applied last week. Does this mean my card is approved?

1 week to approve?  by using online?

I applied through agent as I provided additional supporting documents to increase my chances of approval. No choice but to sacrifice the 50 bucks.

yea, next few days your card will be in your doorstep..
SCB is like that, they sent you SMS for temp password before you got your card, i guess they auto sent out once they send out your card..your card take 2 days to deliver, but sms take 2 sec =X
*
Alright. This card will be used to replace Watami thumbup.gif

BTW saw the sign up promo from RP: https://ringgitplus.com/en/credit-card/Stan...MasterCard.html

Complimentary RM50 T&G card and Smartag when activate card, seems like the promo from SCB is much worth it.

Update: Just called CS to get temporarily ID and able to log in the online banking. They havent done the embossing of the card yet. Actually it is pretty easy to reach CS, just call the toll-free no. 1800-88-2588, press 0 to speak to CS, key in CC/IC number and you will be connected to a human almost immediately thumbup.gif
