I applied JustOne savings account via online and got approved the next day. Quick and efficient, probably because I'm also holding their credit card.

So, I chose my preferred branch is in PD as I'm on leave this whole week to collect my debit card and activate my account as well.

I was extremely pleased with the service rendered, very professional. Then, I was delighted that when the officer told me I'm entitled for a free power bank because I have their credit card and applied debit card via online. thumbup.gif

Think back, the main reason I applied for their credit card was for the free cashback. tongue.gif And now I applied the debit card is for the Cirrus network which eases my short term assignment in overseas. I already have PLUS network from Maybank. nod.gif

I feel bad. laugh.gif

I was surprised too while waiting for my turn to get my Debit Card.
The officer said because I have applied both types of cards via online. I'm not sure how true is that la. sweat.gif

Today called in to get RM50 GST offset... was told to perform 3 transactions (any amount) and call in to get the RM50 GST offset. Instead I request them to submit cancellation of the SCB CC brows.gif
*
I also called in to cancel in June before my GST kicked in July.
My GST is waived upon the call, AF is also waived... Moreover, they even credited RM 50 into my account to spend. No condition applied. thumbup.gif
Now I have used the card and I may cancel it as I don't want to hold so many cards. Moreover, this card has no benefits at all, at least for me. blush.gif

I called to terminate my SCB Plat on Wednesday's night but until today nobody calls me to verify. How long does it take? The reason I ask is because I'll be travelling to overseas soon and though my phone will be roaming, I don't want to pick up calls to avoid expensive charges. I'll be back only a month later...

I just cancelled my scb plat card this week (switched to worldmiles) . I didnt have to receive any additional calls to cancel. I did however key in by T-pin and answered some verification questions by call center.

Before i cancelled it though, i changed all my points to BIG points due to the low interchange! https://ibanklite.standardchartered.com/nfs...20a20057bc57284

I'm about to call them now to check if it is really cancelled.
My one and only SCB. laugh.gif

Updated: Called and they said received my cancellation request but it is still "active". I said I cannot tolerate a week without action and if you need any verification call, call me by today.

Somebody just called me and said I have "cancelled" once in June and I have somehow promised to retain it until next year's January because they waived my GST, annual fees and gave me RM 50 cashback. laugh.gif OK lo, I will keep in my drawer. tongue.gif

thats why, dont simply promise, just firm with ur cancellation, cut the card to half and send it back to CC centre, next time call to cancel again, they will beg beg u to continue retain. what will u do?
*
Well, it is not a big issue for me. I also don't want to make them miserable, I can just keep it without using.
Why not when I get free money to use? rolleyes.gif But I will not entertain for the second retention though.

i did not get any free money to continue to retain, just waiver for GST and AF. quite standard

To be honest, if they just waive AF and GST, I will not bother.
That time, on top of these, they even credited RM 50 into my account, I cannot say no to free money. blush.gif

Looks like this SCB Gold cash back card is a good option for general transactions. I can forget about using AEON and PosOnline combo method. Wise move to discard this combo and jump ship to SCB Gold card? unsure.gif

Any hidden catch that I should be aware about? I will most likely use it for normal retails which are not covered by my other cards for e.g. PTPTN, auto-debit insurance, TnG reloads. I think it excludes insurance. sad.gif

Spending RM 833.33 per month should be OK for me but RM 1.5k will be occasionally.

hmm.gif There is AF.

fruitie I am new to SCB, there should be a sign up bonus somewhere still, no promises, you can try online chat with them,

cons that I can think of:
1. need to self redeem cash back via online, just found out it will be processed after statement date
2. annual fees
3. off topic, weird website where you can't use your own SCB bank fund to transfer to other (not ownself) SCB card, I don't know how to get it done, just plain weird online banking

pros:
1. e-mail alert, this is something nice to have, sms alert too
2. delivery card is quite fast, sometimes poslaju just drop the card or sometimes, it just never deliver and sms you the tracking number said failed to deliver
*
I haven't thought about the promotion yet but just wanna see if it will really suit my usage. hmm.gif
Thanks for sharing though.

I feel like this card is actually very not bad for general transaction.

Gym and utilities all will at least reach 800 per month d. Add another sub-card's spending, easily can reach 1,5k laugh.gif

Just that their banks are a little hard to find booths / reliable agents to apply the card.
*
I'll just apply online if I really want to.

Their online damn lousy mia.

Last time i tried, nobody even followed up after 2 weeks.

When I called in, nobody knows where the application is.

Terus no mood to follow up since then.
*
I think my first card with them 3 years ago was via online.

QUOTE(sendohz @ Oct 17 2016, 11:01 AM)
Apply through RP.
FAster response and the fee gifts followed by the customer rep from RP is very efficient as well for my application.
*
Alright but I checked RP site, no free gift for SCB Gold cash back. Other cards yes.

QUOTE(sj0217 @ Oct 17 2016, 11:18 AM)
One more thing to add, you can pay Aeon credit service through POSOnline by this SCB Gold card too smile.gif
*
Too little cash back after deducting 2.12%. sweat.gif

Oww..too bad then.
Normally free gift will be delivered within three months from the date of campaign end with minimum swipes and etc conditions, but i after i met all those conditions, i emailed back the RP rep and she said within 2 weeks i will receive it.
Then got a PosLaju parcel arrived within a week which contained Tng preloaded RM50 + Slim SmartTag + 9V battery.

Sometimes i use this card to pay POSONLINE partially to meet the CB condition of min RM500. Ya i know i will lose 0.12% in the end but better than ZERO.
*
I will see how it goes as I just recently fixed my PTPTN issue, I don't think SCB will approve me that fast. tongue.gif

apply via online takes u 2-3 working days.. speedy approval.. same like citibank...

but dont know for others

after approval delivery took within 48 working hrs via poslaju

No la, earlier my CCRIS is affected by PTPTN because I usually make payment one lump sum rather than on monthly basis. Last week went and adjusted it back, I don't think new banks will approve me. sad.gif

This card can dump FD to get?

Should be easy since the most they need is 5k for the lowest level card? laugh.gif

I don't know if they allow but I will not dump FD to get a card. biggrin.gif

Consider it temporary parking.

Sometimes it skips the hassle since you can get it almost immediately after you park the cash.

Different people, different preference I supposed.
I can wait and won't simply throw my cash to somewhere else. tongue.gif

Never mind, not urgent, can apply when I think it is about the time. laugh.gif

i heard any fresh grad with RM 2000 is entitle the platinum card. So no more status for anyone who carry a platinum card, am I true?
*
Nope. It depends on banks, CIMB I know that has got rid of their Gold cards, all are now minimum Plat. For Maybank still requires at least RM 60k per annum to get Plat.

For SCB's case, yes as their Gold and Plat are both 24k per annum only.

Credit Score. .Check your CCRIS first before you apply. Try untill get it..
Ambank is the only bank that will "overlook" PTPTPN
http://www.themalaysiantimes.com.my/ptptn-...-ccris-records/
"According to Sulaiman, applicants with impaired CCRIS records due to PTPTN loans are welcomed to apply with AmBank for any financing as long as they provide proof that the repayment arrangement has been made between applicant and PTPTN."

Yeah, I know. I'm a very seasoned credit card user. tongue.gif
