Going by the discussion here, I suppose it's safe to conclude that the transaction date is key to determine whether transactions fall into a particular calendar month's cashback quota? So to sum it up:

Cashback quota cycle: Calendar month
Cashback tracking: Transaction date

Hey guys, I've just received my SCB cards. It seems like they have changed the card design of the Cashback Gold Mastercard to this:

RinggitPlus

Strange that SCB's website is stil showing the old design. cool2.gif

Although you can set it to a minimum of RM250 in the online banking, I still receive SMS alerts whenever I have transactions below RM250.
*
May I know how to set the SMS alert threshold on online banking? I've just activated SMS Banking but couldn't find where to set the threshold under Alert Settings. Thanks in advance!

Select Manage your alerts > Select credit card > View alerts > Select credit card > Select customize alert conditions > Click Transaction Alert Primary / Supplementary Card > Then you will see it.

Thanks a lot. I managed to find it. Just short of one step rclxms.gif

How to enter the threshold amount?
*
This is the crucial step: Click Transaction Alert Primary / Supplementary Card. It's a link to the page to set the threshold amount. (I didn't notice that it was a link earlier)

What is the minimum amount cardholder can set?
*
As stated in the threshold setting page, the minimum amount is RM250. If i'm not mistaken, I think earlier somebody reported that they managed to receive SMS alert on transactions below RM250.

"If customer is entitled to rewards under more than one promotion or campaign run concurrently by the Bank, the Bank reserves the right to determine which reward the customer is entitled to." - Run Up Your Rewards 2016 campaign

Does this mean that I need to choose wisely whether I want to be considered exclusively on the above, or the dining 18.88% cashback campaign?

Today my smallest swipe of around RM30 at Watsons received an SMS alert. Another transaction of rm80 at a restaurant also received. My current threshold is the min rm250.

Today I swiped for RM4.90 but didn't receive SMS alert. This is the smallest transaction so far. sweat.gif

Swiped another RM27.29 non-OTP online transaction and received alert too.

I didn't received sms alert for non online transaction with amount lower than 250.
The behavior seems random. Or maybe new customer they will not send if below the value set
Seems so random. I think i will just need to monitor the available balance in the day after the swipe.
Feel not safe especially when merchant swipe twice and did not void it properly. We will not know that if no sms alert
*
I'm inclined to believe that it's random too. My last transaction of around RM28 at Cold Storage didn't receive any alert too.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before as I couldn't find it here or previous thread after searching

I've just received my first statement (2 cards combined). If I pay by IBG, do I pay to each of my card (2 transactions), or just 1 will do and SCB will apportion it across both of my card accounts?

That's fast! When did you sign up? I remember first seeing the campaign in end-Apr.

I signed up and received my cards in end-May and currently waiting for the Expedia voucher. The PriceSolutions staff told me that I need to wait for 60 days after activating my cards to receive my gift. Did RinggitPlus call/email to inform you on the fulfillment of the free gift?

Thanks for inform.
Received mine as well. biggrin.gif

Based on your past experience, are the cashback points credited into the cardholders' account batch by batch? Coz i haven't received mine yet. I'm relatively new and this is my first cashback hmm.gif

Edit: I understood how it works now. The "BONUS POINTS AVAILABLE" under Card Details shows 0. But when I click "Redeem Rewards Now", I can see my "Cashback MYR50" on the top left of the screen. Submitted my request for cashback to be credited into my card account.

My dining transaction made on 15 and 17 June also get nothing.. My 15 June transaction is 2k+, 17 June is 55+

ckweng, 23 June is ur only dining transaction which matched with ur cashback amount?
*
My 2nd last transaction was 17 June and last on 23 June. Mine was a combination of multiple transactions. If the last fulfilling transaction on 23 June was not eligible, I wouldn't have received the full rebate.

Perhaps you can try and email them to file a dispute? hmm.gif

Ya, I will file a dispute, but the bank still yet to advise me on the MCC of my transaction. So, u receive RM100 and all your other multiple transaction added up won't tied with the cashback received? Or do u do any hotel transaction like rdevil33
May I know when is ur transaction performed?
N as mentioned earlier, the eligible mcc code in fact mostly r hotel mcc..
*
All my multiple transactions should tie with the cashback received (RM100) as I stopped spending after the 23 Jun transaction. The dining ones are all restaurant type and none was hotel related.

I'm quite surprised with rdevil33's non-dining related hotel transactions which were eligible. It could be a glitch in their tracking system, but still free money!

If you look at the MCC codes in TnC, hotel-related transactions are eligible too.
*
QUOTE(MGM @ Aug 16 2016, 02:04 PM)
Not a glitch, allowed as in the T&C those hotel-related MCC.
*
Perhaps it's a loophole rather than a glitch, since this is a dining rebate campaign. Maybe they can't segregate dining and non-dining related transactions from hotel-related MCC. Booking hotel rooms and get a "dining" rebate is a little mind boggling biggrin.gif

Not a new thing, some reported using Maybank 2 Amex during weekend for hotel booking also received 5% rebate. This is because the MCC those hotels used is under dining.
*
I see...this is good to know. I suppose this type of hotel booking is over the counter with physical swipe, and not online bookings like Agoda, Expedia etc?

SCB callback to me saying it is based on first come first serve so i am not entitle.
I think mostly because I do not fulfil the rm500 spend before i swipe the dining at jun19

so for those who met 500 spend include dining earlier, he will be getting the 18.88% cashback for the whole month in dining?
may I know when is your earliest date which you met the rm500 requirement ?
*
It seems like the earlier one meets the min RM500 spending requirement, the higher the chance. It's possible that "first come first served" is firstly determined by eligibility (min RM500), then followed by how early the qualifying dining transactions are.

I met my min spend of RM500 on 4 June.
