Now you know Stand Chart is a vampire bank. Anyway did this Stand Chart send you a letter informing on this change? Or you found out bcos you checked their website?

When his Stand Chart took away the many card privileges of Platinum Biz card and up the redemption points significantly about 2.5 years ago, they did it quietly without informing the card members. They only updated their website on it. Very sneaky. As a biz man I really hate sneaky biz practices. I found out 2 months later cos my biz partners told me so in a casual chat. Immediately I cancelled my Stand Chart credit card and vowed never ever to do biz with this sneaky bank.

Now I use local banks credit cards and while all are not perfect, they are still much better than giving profits to this sneaky bank.

Just got WorldMiles card from ringgitplus for the sake of RM400 airasia voucher (have to spend 100) and 1 luggage (have to spend 500) from the Price Solution.

Not sure what else this card can benefit me. LOL

I tried to waive the fee just now over the phone, but it was unsuccessful.

It seems bank start to more strict on given annual fee waiver.
Did u request to cancel the card? Now, we should look for cc offer auto annual waiver

No I didn't, too much hassle for that for now as it is tight up with few monthly auto debit payments.

when you tell them you want to cancel the card, they will waive for you.

i just cancelled my cards, they offered to waive all annual fees debited to my accounts to keep me with them but i insisted on cancelling the cards

Just called up and the operator said he had sent my waiver request and asked me to check back 5 days later via internet banking. I am not so sure if the waiver request is as good as it is waived but the operator sounds like no problem to get mine waived.

What does the operator said to u?

I didn't speak to any operator.
I just called up the hotline and was route through the answering machine. First the card info, then fee, following by fee waiver. Then was asked to key in my credit card number and the system said "Your request was unsuccessful".

Then u shold try again and speak to the operator. I did the key in card number process too and after i failed twice, was route to the operator. The operator process my request no question asked.

I tried to cancel my card few days, they call me back this morning and offered me these

1) Swipe three times for RM100 cashback (any amount and any store), can't find this promo anywhere on the website
2) 1% balance transfer for 6 months
3) Waived on next year Annual fee

Anyone know the cashback above is valid?

if they provided you via phone call, meant is valid. Record down the time of call, the guys name who called you. All phone conversation is recorded, they can check history.
Swipe for 3 times, wait for few weeks, if still don't have, you can complain to them.

I am not sure whether the request is a guaranteed waiver, but mine was waived.

If I request to cancel my card with pending annual fee.. Do I need to pay 1st or can cancel without paying annual fee?

I called to waive annual fee first, and make sure the AF waived before cancel. That's what I did previously.
