Yes they do in fact....You dont have to worry about'em .But sometimes they do give us a Kernel Panic...I would suggest to go with Corsair !

To say it doesn't crash is pretty hard but the screen you saw was a hardware conflict that requires immediate shutdown for hardware inspection, so it has no relation to the commonly said "Macs don't crash (in terms of software)".

My sis's MacBook from Singapore was given a Transcend DDR2 667mhz 1Gb as a free upgrade, hope this will add into the list of "Tested RAMs on MacBook".

Guys I need some help here,

Kingston has two version of DDR2-PC5300 SODIMM rams. One is for Apple (KTA-MB667) and the other is a value ram (KVR667D2S5).

If by specs both are the same, but by price its totally different (Apple more expensive as usual). So is there any difference if I go with the Value ram?

dude... i've checked b4 and i've got a couple of different responses...

The shop guys told me tat the apple ram will not cause any kernel panic but there's a probability tat the value ram will...

my friend who's been a mac guy for ages said tat it doesnt matter... so i'm stuck in the same dilemma as u r... the value ram's super cheap while the mac ram costs a bomb...

its like a poker game, some apple machine are not that picky, and some are, so you can always try to test the value ram 1st, if it works you're lucky if not, try others

You think so. Well I was in Penang last week, went to Gurney Drive, the guy there showed me this Ram for Apple Intel and it was 1 x 1GB RAM wor... but the guy could be wrong. well if it is RM420 for 1GB RAM, I think that it is quite reasonable.

How's my blackbook, well it is great man. Showed it to some apple user in Penang and that were quite impressed.

Guys, i was at the Apple store in Ikano the other day and the guy said that ONE stick 1Gig Apple RAM is about RM700..im thinking of getting my MB sometime next week and i really want to up the RAM..

i know this is what is being debated at the moment but what really is the RAM situation? What's the standard ballpark price and will there really be a difference if i dont get Apple specific RAMs...?
