i've done a test overclocking ability for my mobo n proc..
1st...i set
HT link multi = 2x
CPU multi = 5x
RAM divider = "100mhz 1:2"
i open prime95, and start an "in-place fft" torture test.
i increase the FSB (HTT) with clockgen 2-3mhz every 15-30 seconds.
there 0 error n 100 warning at 375HTT..
so i decide to choose 365HTT to run superpi 1M..
success wif poor result as pic attached...

question is....is that my real mobo`s capability...?
ok or not...?wut was the average value that other mobo can hit?...specially DFI..

then i change the CPU multi to default (9x)..
than i open prime95, and start an "small fft" torture test.
i increase the FSB (HTT) with clockgen 2-3mhz every 30-60 seconds.
it hang at 305HTT.
so i choose 300HTT as it value....
never test to calculate superpi...

so any other way to push my cpu ability 2 follow the mobo?

i may try 2 test my mushkin bh5 ability 2molo...
i hope all LYN die hard overclocker can help me..

i also using an8 ultra but my corsair ram i think suck..i using amdx2 ..setting as below:

htt 250
ht multipler 4x
multiplier 10x
speed 2.5ghz
ram using ddr333 actually speed 210mhz (ddr 420)
prime stable...din push higher cos load temp reaching 59C using stock cooler..still waiting for my scythe mine to push it over 2.5 again..

i wan to ask is better to have high htt with low cpu multiplier or low htt with high cpu multiplier like the example below:-

10X270mhz = 2.7ghz
9x300mhz = 2.7ghz ....which 1 is better

Highest clock is the best for AMD64 regardless of the htt and multi used. But in your case, you can reach 2.7ghz with both setups. I think using higher htt would be better but you can test both configurations and see which one produce better results.

some tips to you,

when using divider, you must raise up the MAL and RP. but then, there is no benifit to overclock the HTT to the max. stick to 9x and try raise up the fsb slowly.

I would say whichever that has higher RAM performance is better, for both 2.7GHz

what about if

270x10 using 1:1 result to 270 @ 2.5-4-3-7

or

300x9 using 5:6 result to 245 @ 2-2-2-5

which one is better in super pi? laugh.gif

definitely the latter.... 245mhz @ 2-2-2-5

the first one will probably better if the timing was 2.5-3-3-7

Im using Abit KN8 Ultra with E6 too. Currently using 337x9 with /12 dividers. From what i can see, the tightest timing would win. The mem bandwidth will benefit from it rather high clocks with loose timings.

Well, most mobos for nf4 will lock the pci clocks on default.
