Built my first desktop recently rclxms.gif
Awesome case, extremely quiet graphic card, and my favourite cpu cooler brand!

Mine is nearly the same as yours, idle at 40-41 degrees. (No aircond in my room) Load in battlefield 4 is about 72 degrees. Seems okay to me.

Nice graphic card brows.gif Trying really hard to enjoy battlefield 4 right now, but its so glitchy (artifacting, sound issues, crash) that I only get to play 1 full game out of every 2 I join. sad.gif
Also, during some big levolution moments (e.g. the crashing bridge in Dawnbreaker's C point), my whole pc slows down like in the Matrix. (once the levolution completes it returns to normal) Is this related to the lack of PhysX on AMD cards ? But it plays smooth as hell in Paracel Storm with all the water and storm stuff going on. Graphic settings are all in ultra except AA at 4x. (1920x1080) Vertical sync is turned on as well.

On a side note: HUGE fan of Dawnbreaker and Operation Locker rclxms.gif

Personally I think the Asus R9 280x is extremely good in terms of sound, so its probably a decent tradeoff compared to buying the reference 290. Its cheaper, performs well, much quieter, and its Asus built quality. Just my 2 cents. smile.gif

LYN members who didn't get to go to San Jose... and dying to know more about Mantle:

Go here.

The best juicy part is the Q&A session AFTER the presentation.
EDIT:
Apologies. I forgot to mention: 2 videos.
1st video is the whole Mantle session.
2nd video is the "supposedly offline" Q&A

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing. Was hunting for videos on the conference.

Feeling a little sad that I bought Asus's R9 280x separately from Battlefield 4. sad.gif (RM 1220 + RM 149) Now that Sapphire is bundling stuff up like a boss. I guess the best feature of the Asus card would be its quiet fans, though.
